We were fortunate to get so many players who showed great skills during the day, and they provided us a great showing of their talents. Here we have a list of some of the top guys for the day and some names to get familiar with as they continue to develop into stars.
Jarren Lopez | WR | 2028 | Owen Goodnight Junior
When watching Lopez put in work on the field, you see why his nickname is Jet. He flies all over the field. Working from the receiver position, Lopez is quick with fast footwork and great control on his routes. A quick 1-2 step will have defenders lost and he’s leaving them in the dust. Lopez’s ability to create separation caught many eyes and he showed strong hands.
Jamarion Jones | RB | 2028 | Hodges Bend Middle
Jones caught the attention of everybody with his testing. His 40 had everybody locked in and wanting to know his time. He showed much skill in every drill with great fluidity and drive. Jones has some good size to him as well and has a very bright future at the position.
Braden Baker Braden Baker 6'4" | 175 lbs | QB Cypress Ranch | 2027 State TX | QB | 2027 | Smiths Middle
Now Baker is a player who steps off the bus and draws the attention of the crowd. At 6’4, Baker looks the part and on the field he shows that he’s that guy. Great zip and touch on his passes already, Baker can just drop the ball into the bread basket with little effort. He showed very good footwork during drills and just let the ball rip during the competition part of camp. He will be a name you hear a lot of for the next few years.
Marquis Murry II Marquis Murry II 6'0" | 195 lbs | ATH Austin LBJ | 2027 TX | DL | 2027 | Grisham
Murry showed to be a true athlete during the camp. He was taking reps as a defensive back, receiver, and defensive lineman. He was all over the place, and looked good at every spot. There was a moment where he won his one on one at the receiver position, then ran over to the OL vs DL, hopped into pass pro, and beat his competition within the first two steps. Murry is just built different and it will be exciting to see him continue to develop into an outstanding player.
Mikel Winbush Jr Mikel Winbush Jr 5'8" | 170 lbs | DB Waxahachie | 2027 State TX . | DB | 2027 | Kennedale Junior
Winbush Jr. was doing everything right at the defensive back position. Showed good eyes and discipline, and played the ball very well in one on ones. His footwork looked very good during drills, and he has a good size to him with room to grow. Winbush Jr. showed good recovery skills vs receivers and showed that he had the speed to keep up with anybody he went against. He has much promise to his game and is a good young player to keep tabs on.
