The tour made its way to Houston this past weekend and we had some players come out and show out! Here we will discuss the young stars who came to camp on a mission and caught the eyes of many with their skills shown on the field. Nothing but bright futures for all of these ballers and we can expect a lot of the names to be household names in the near future in the state.
Trevon Johnson | RB/LB | 2027 | Olrich Intermediate
Johnson was a standout for the majority of the camp. With his size, he truly stood out and his elusiveness through the bags was a site to see. He showed great change of direction and vision in the drills, and looked very good in the open field. Johnson caught the ball very well and his ability to glide through space made him look like a top prospect. Cannot wait to see what he does with the pads on.
Antonio Dural | DB | 2028 | Hildebrant
Dural looked like a seasoned defensive back during the defensive drills. When it came to high-pointing the ball, playing low, and backpedaling under control, Dural was the man. In the one on one’s Dural locked in on receivers and defended with much confidence. He stayed on the hip and located the ball in the air, making a stop on almost every rep. We may be hearing Dural Island very soon in the future.
Aden Starling Aden Starling 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Iowa Colony | 2027 State TX | WR | 2027 | Ronald E. McNair Middle
Starling has star potential written all over him. Long framed player with much room to grow, and already has the tools needed to succeed. A clean route runner with the ability to create separation while maintaining his balance. Starling goes up for the ball, high pointing it, and has a very good catch radius for his quarterback. Know this name.
Terry Brister | DL | 2027 | Crocket Middle
Brister was showing out in the linemen group for the day. He was putting his power, strength, and quickness on display for the entirety of the camp. When it came to the one on one drills, Brister just continued to put on a clinic on how to beat your opponent. He walked away as an MVP of the camp and definitely got the attention of the coaches there.
Jared Hagger Jared Hagger 6'1" | 200 lbs | QB Cypress Springs | 2027 TX | QB | 2027 | Bleyl Middle
Hagger was a big talk of the camp from the start due to his testing numbers. On every test, he seemed to be at the top of the list, and later on during drill work, he did not disappoint. Hagger not only showed that he can be a serious threat with his athleticism but with his arm as well. He was dotting up his receivers and showed that he is a coachable player, listening to what the coaches were telling him, and correcting what he needed right then and there. You could see his confidence build throughout the day and he just continued to stand out.
Jordan Hightower Jr Jordan Hightower Jr 5'5" | 140 lbs | RB TX . | RB | 2028 | David Crockett Middle
Hightower Jr. came on the scene and did not disappoint, putting in work at the running back position. Hightower showed great quickness and wiggle in the open field. He was drawing many eyes with his speed and eventually put it on full display in the final competition of the camp. Hightower Jr. will be a name to follow in the near future with his talent.
Joseph Cole Newell Cole Newell 6'0" | 260 lbs | DL TX | OL | 2027 | Iago Junior
Newell is a powerhouse of a player. He was showing his power and strength, and knowledge of the game from the jump. He was first in line for the drill work and set the tone with good effort throughout the entire camp. Newell came in with a mindset to get better and that is what he did.
