FLORENCE | Sunday's Palmetto Combine East 2024 sessions included many of the top-ranked players in the entire state.

It also had a handful of underrated players make their move.

These five guys from three different SCHSL classifications and a SCISA program left their mark either in the one-on-one portions of the day, the combine and measurement segments, or both.

[player_tooltip player_id='771040' first='Jamauri' last='Davis'] DB, Carolina Forest

Last season, Davis (pictured) was responsible for covering opposing teams' top receivers. He did his part, convincing other teams to not even throw in his direction; they only threw at him 11 times all year. On Sunday, Davis showed up, set the high throw in the medicine ball toss and chimed in at a cool 6-foot (and a half inch) and 178.9 pounds. He also put up a 9 foot, 11 inch broad jump (top five in the session) and a respectable 4.55 40-yard dash.

[player_tooltip player_id='262434' first='Juels' last='Huntley'] ATH, Florence Christian

While Huntley was running mostly with the tailbacks on Sunday, his range on offense was on display during the one-on-one sessions in which he was coming out of the backfield and running various routes. Huntley got his hands on most of the passes thrown his way on both the short routes and a couple deeper ones alike.

[player_tooltip player_id='448995' first='Austin' last='Cunningham'] WR, White Knoll

Moments after the combine sessions started, a coach in attendance noted that Cunningham has clearly been coached up in the finer details. The 6-foot, 175-pound quarterback-turned-receiver made it count. He busted off a 4.18 pro shuttle and then a 4.48 40-yard dash, making the most of his natural quickness and his combine training. The Timberwolves are trending upward, and Cunningham is a big reason why.

[player_tooltip player_id='1001124' first='JT' last='Sowell'] OL, Gray Collegiate

Sowell showed up ready to rock and roll on Sunday, ripping through a 5.07-second 40 moments after the combine started. Not too shabby for a guy who is 6-foot-3.5 and 251.8 pounds. Sowell looks the part of a powerful Class 2A lineman who could easily play at the bigger divisions.

Rodrick McRae RB, South Florence

A recent transfer from Marion - where he rand for 1,125 yards and 15 touchdowns last season - McRae effectively took part in his first public action while competing for the defending Class 4A state champions. McRae measured 5-foot-9 and 227.3 pounds. Yet, he still ran a 4.78 40 and popped off an impressive 9 feet, 6 inches in the broad jump. He paired that with some proficiency catching short passes in traffic, something he'll be asked to do at South.
