Kendric nickname should be “All – Everything” because that is what he means to the team, but also what his awards say too. The two-year starter for the reigning D2 State Champions is returning for his final fall for the Irish. The All-Ohio lineman will face new challenges as the Irish play in the Detroit Catholic League with a tougher schedule that will get them prepared for the OHSAA playoffs to defend their title. Bankston is aggressive, physical, and intelligent upfront and has the work ethic to support his uncompromising will to compete. When you turn on the film, you will see that Bankston will finish off defenders often and always play through the echos of the whistle. Kendric is an early favorite for a 1st Team All Ohio candidate, and his recruitment should pick up this summer during the camp season.
Jayden Barnes – Central Catholic – 2024 CB
Jayden has excellent range for a next-level defensive back with his long arms and ball skills. Barnes is a smart CB who understands zone coverages exceptionally well and has a mean streak in run support. I saw Barnes in person at the 419 Football Club, and his ability to cover and make plays in 1v1 drills was top-tier that day. Barnes seems like the perfect cover-two corner on film, as he will lay the boom on a flat player. He will gain traction this summer with his ball-tracking skills and athletic build with college coaches at camp. All-State caliber talent; keep an eye on this prospect.
Brannon Dempsey – Whitmer – 2026 DE
Very impressed with Dempsey’s ability to explode off the football and his change of direction skills. Brannon is a nasty and physical football player who expects to make plays. Not much film on this young prospect, but you can expect to see him making plays on the field for the Panthers in a big way. Dempseys also uses his hands well, which will pay off for him vs. quality offensive linemen. Keep your eyes out; he is a local high school name to remember.
Zaveon Garner Zaveon Garner 6'4" | 180 lbs | WR Lima Senior | 2024 State OH – Lima Senior – 2024 ATH
Zaveon is a multi-purpose athlete who can play several positions at the next level. Garner is a natural at WR and has big play capability when his number is dialed. You better keep a spy on him when he has to play QB, as he can beat a defense with his feet for huge gainers. He should have a breakout year and gain some headlines in a new league this fall. He is a fun prospect to watch, and if he has been grinding this offseason, the 6’4 ATH could be on some college coaches’ radars.
