Today we are going to get caught up on all of the news and headlines from a recruiting perspective in Texas. Let’s start our week off in good fashion by getting caught up on the news making headlines.
Jaylen Pile Jaylen Pile 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Parish Episcopal | 2026 State TX -Wide Receiver-Southlake Carroll-2026
The Southlake Carroll product opened plenty of eyes last season. Pile has terrific speed and good hands. He mixes the route running with impressive speed to create separation from opposing defensive backs. Pile had a productive 2022 season, hauling in 31 receptions for 601 yards and 11 touchdowns. He had the opportunity to visit the Oklahoma Sooners during the weekend they were holding the spring game. Pile is a wide receiver to watch out for over the next few years.
Luke Carney Luke Carney 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Dallas Christian | 2025 State TX -Quarterback-Dallas Christian-2025
Luke Carney Luke Carney 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Dallas Christian | 2025 State TX is a quarterback prospect that has opened plenty of eyes over the past few months. He has put his strong arm on display and has got the attention of numerous college scouts in the process. Last season, Carney threw for over 2,200 yards, rushed for 881 yards, and accounted for 33 touchdowns. All the while only turning the ball over six times. Over the weekend, the talented Dallas Christian signal caller was able to take a visit to Nebraska and catch the Cornhuskers spring game.
Trey Joyner III-Running Back-Denton Guyer-2024
One of the most patient running backs in the class of 2024. Joyner III does a great job of allowing a rushing lane to develop before exploding through the hole. In 2022, Joyner III did an excellent job of racking up the rushing yards. He accounted for over 1,200 yards on the ground and punched the ball in the end zone 17 times. Joyner spent the weekend visiting the West Texas A&M campus. He is a prospect to keep an eye on this upcoming season. Joyner III has the potential to have a big season for Denton Guyer.
Will Terry-Tight End-Iowa Colony-2026
The Iowa Colony tight end has the perfect size at 6’4” and 200-pounds for the position. Terry is a strong blocker and does an excellent job of helping clear a path for his teammates. From a receiving standpoint, he is impressive in how crisp his routes are. He can create separation from opposing defenders using his size and route running ability. Over the weekend, Terry had the opportunity to visit Houston Christian University. I look for Terry to continuing to open eyes with his solid play this upcoming season.
Kenny Atunrase-Tight End-Cole-2024
Kenny Atunrase is a versatile prospect that is effective on both sides of the ball. However, for the purpose of this article we are going to examine his abilities at the tight end position. He has tremendous athleticism and uses it well to high point the football in the red zone. Over the weekend, Atunrase earned his seventh scholarship offer from Colgate. I look for Atunrase to continue to haul in the offers over the next few months.
Jaquise Martin Jaquise Martin 6'0" | 185 lbs | WR Rudder | 2025 State TX -Athlete-Rudder-2025
Jaquise Martin Jaquise Martin 6'0" | 185 lbs | WR Rudder | 2025 State TX ‘s versatility makes him a recruiting target for pretty much every school out there. He has seen time at quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and defensive back over the past few months. Martin has impressive speed and is a threat to take I the distance from anywhere on the field. Over the weekend, Martin earned a scholarship offer from Florida A&M. I expect a big season from the talented prospect from Rudder.
