With the timing of all the collegiate spring games going on, this past Sunday in Council Bluffs, Iowa was home to the Prep Red Zone Iowa/Nebraska Showcase event with many new faces improving their stock amongst the coaches and scouts on hand. Excellent teaching and fundamentals being implemented at all positions. Very good intensity and focus shown by this group of players! Here are some GameChangers whose performances stood out to me.
Tony Palmer Tony Palmer 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB South Sioux City | 2025 State NE , RB 2025 5-11 (190) South Sioux City, NE: Speaking of GameChangers, Palmer took the top off the camp as a very skilled sophomore RB who displayed great vision, speed and ability to outrun angles in the defensive secondary. Easily one of the best under the radar RB’s I have seen perform this off-season. Palmer opened some coaches and scouts eyes and really put himself on the map in Council Bluffs. Legitimate college RB could potentially play at the Division 1 level his best football is ahead of him.
Brayden McClain LB 2024 5-11 (190) Sioux City North, IA: McClain is a leader and shows that in drills going 100% to improve himself. Very physical LB at the point of attack and fills holes in his sleep. Very solid in shutting down the run game and rapidly improving in coverage out of the backfield on RB. Smart, well coached and a student of the game. McClain will be a great addition to a collegiate roster following his senior season.
Kannon Bork Kannon Bork 6'2" | 215 lbs | TE Bishop Heelan Catholic | 2024 State IA TE/DE 2024 6-2 (215) Bishop Heelan, IA: Bork continues to impress from his TE position. Ran an exceptional L-drill at camp this weekend and caught the eye of several coaches in attendance. Great hands and can catch the football in traffic. Good focus in the passing game and really understands leveraging a defender when running routes downfield. On field production will rise this year as he has good chemistry with returning senior QB Quinn Olson.
Keagan Augustine Keagan Augustine 6'3" | 220 lbs | DL Sioux City East | 2024 State IA DE 2024 6-3 (225) Sioux City East, IA: Augustine looked great coming off the edge at DE and showed his arsenal of moves in one on one drills with the offensive tackles. Long arms allow Augustine to get good separation with the OT and has the athleticism to attack inside or outside. Good attitude and very coachable. The coaches in attendance were impressed. Big senior season upcoming for Augustine.
Ty Wagner RB/LB 2024 6-0 (215) Prairie du Chien, Wi: Here is a great prospect out of Wisconsin that really performed well. Has run (4.56) 40-yd dash and squats (500) lbs. Very mature and impressed me with his ability to cut in the run game and is really just a winner in all phases of the game. Wagner is in line for a huge senior season and will be a great addition to a college roster after his senior campaign.
