Spring games are punctuating the spring practice on college campuses all over the country, as high schools prepare to ramp up their own spring practice periods.

And standout 2024 prospects are ramping up commitment announcements accordingly, including a handful — and counting — across south Louisiana in less than a week.

This past Sunday, the Hurricanes landed one of Louisiana's hottest 2024 recruits thus far since the start of the new year in the instinctive and track-fast defensive back with a knack for takeaways. A pair of SEC programs in Ole Miss and Mississippi State and Big 12 Baylor, which signed Day's high school teammate [player_tooltip player_id='361375' first='Carl' last='Williams IV'] just months ago, had been among others notably involved. Other offers included Arizona State, West Virginia, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Marshall and Arkansas State.

K.J. Daniels — 5-10, 155 WR — Franklinton —> Oklahoma

Another speedy Louisiana prospect committed to the Sooners the following day on a busy start to the week around the state. Oklahoma had been among the first programs in pursuit of the dynamic pass-catcher, who had been somewhat of a hidden gem in the class. His other offers include Texas Tech, Tulane, Houston, Louisiana Tech, Arkansas State, Cincinnati and Memphis.

Matt Mayfield — 6-2, 185 WR — Beau Chene —> Mississippi State

The same day Oklahoma landed Daniels, Mississippi State managed to secure the commitment of another still largely under-the-radar Louisiana talent. The Bulldogs were one of the first offers for Mayfield, who pointed to his relationships with recruiting specialist Kyle Schexnayder and wide receiver coach Chad Bumphis in his decision. Grambling State and Cincinnati have been his other offers to start the year.

[player_tooltip player_id='139490' first='Keidrick' last='Richardson'] — 5-11, 220 LB — De La Salle —> Campbell

One of the first prospects in the class on the recruiting radar when LSU offered prior to his freshman season announced his commitment to Campbell on Monday. While Richardson hadn't been as hot a name in the recruiting headlines the past couple years as that early offer would've suggested, he's been a highly productive and decorated player during his high school career as physical as anyone on the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='421613' first='Tah'j' last='Butler'] — 6-2, 210 LB — Edna Karr —> Georgia Tech

On Thursday, the Yellow Jackets added a potential steal of a commitment in the New Orleans linebacker who showed intriguing flashes in four games this fall and has a lot of eyes on his entering the spring and summer. Troy, Louisiana Tech, Tulane, Georgia Tech and Southeastern Louisiana — all programs with strong connections in the city and state — had been the first offers for Butler. And New Orleans native and former Nicholls State assistant Ricky Brumfield, the Yellow Jackets' special teams coordinator, and company managed to draw the pledge before more programs potentially get a closer look.
