In Part I of Welcome to the Rankings, we highlighted the top 10 additions that ranged from No. 19 to No. 66 in the class. Instead of featuring another group of 10 newcomers, Part II features 11 prospects that debuted inside the Top 100; as this bunch ranges from No. 71 to No. 99. Get ready to meet a collection of talent hailing from Class 6A to Class 3A.
This first prospect started the ’22 campaign as a solid complimentary piece, but would end his sophomore year as an impact player. Bravin Powell Bravin Powell 6’2″ | 175 lbs | ATH Gardner-Edgerton | 2025 State KS of Gardner-Edgerton proved to a versatile offensive weapon down the stretch for the Trailblazers. After seeing time at receiver a majority of the season, Powell filled in under center and helped lead the Trailblazers to a 6A State Runner-Up finish. It will be interesting to see where the 11th ranked athlete lines up during his junior year.
For the folks that don’t know, the Holcomb Longhorns have some talented hogs upfront. Earlier this off-season we highlighted senior-to-be, Kooper Tichenor Kooper Tichenor 6’2″ | 290 lbs | OL Holcomb | 2024 State KS . But Tichenor wasn’t the only Holcomb lineman that flashed next-level potential in 2022. Meet 6-foot-4, 285-pound right tackle, Drayton Knoll Drayton Knoll 6’5″ | 305 lbs | OL Holcomb | 2025 State KS . The sophomore was a force in his first varsity season, and would be recognized as a 2nd Team All-League selection. Knoll enters the rankings right behind Powell as the 72nd ranked prospect in the class.
Highlights
Up next is one of the more physical right tackles in this class. Kaden Jordan Kaden Jordan 6’2″ | 270 lbs | OL Seaman | 2025 State KS becomes the third Seaman Viking to join the Class of ’25 rankings, as he checks in at No. 73 overall, and is the 9th ranked offensive lineman in the class. Jordan cleared some major running lanes for the Vikings last season, which led to Seaman rushing for over 2,000 yards and 26 touchdowns. His standout play made him just one of three sophomores in the UKC to earn All-League honors on the offensive side of the ball this past season.
Several prospects throughout the state have benefited from this current 7-On-7 season. One that has especially shined at the receiver position is Austin Adair Austin Adair 6’0″ | 170 lbs | WR Basehor-Linwood | 2025 State KS of Basehor-Linwood. We highlighted Adair’s play in late February, and now the sophomore makes his debut at No. 75 overall. The 12th ranked wideout has continued to make plays over the past three tournaments he’s competed in, and is likely to carry that momentum into this summer. Adair is looking more and more like a budding star for the Bobcats, and has the potential to become their top pass-catcher this fall.
Banks Bowen Banks Bowen 6’2″ | 175 lbs | ATH Lawrence | 2025 State KS of Lawrence comes in as the fifth newcomer to make his debut in the 70’s range. Bowen emerged as a promising two-way prospect for the Chesty Lions last season, earning him a spot in the rankings at No. 77 overall. He was an All-League Honorable Mention pick at safety last season, but folks should be excited about his potential at quarterback. While he does have room to grow as a passer, his mobility and arm strength make him an intriguing quarterback prospect.
The Hutchinson Salthawks were well represented in this update. In Part I of Welcome to the Rankings we featured standout corner, Terrell King Terrell King 5’8″ | 155 lbs | DB Hutchinson | 2025 State KS . Now in Part II, folks get to meet another promising defender from Hutchinson’s program. Carter Morgan Carter Morgan 5’11” | 170 lbs | LB Hutchinson | 2025 State KS was one of only a few sophomores to earn a 5A All-State Honorable Mention nod in 2022. In addition to this, Morgan was also a 2nd Team All-AVCTL D-I selection. Morgan joins the rankings as the 9th ranked backer in the class and the 80th ranked prospect overall.
Conner Proffitt Conner Proffitt 6’0″ | 180 lbs | ATH Pittsburg | 2025 State KS of Pittsburg enters the Class of ’25 rankings as the 4th athlete to crack the Top 100 in this update. The Pittsburg product makes his debut at No. 92 overall, and is the 15th ranked athlete in a class loaded with exceptional two-way players. He’s wasted no time at getting his name out in the recruiting world so far this off-season. Proffitt made a statement at the You Are Athlete Showcase in Kansas City last month. His performance there earned him an invitation to the YAA All-American Showcase next month, and he’s received a few college camp invitations as well.
Highlights
Typically when the Rock Creek Mustangs are mentioned it’s for their offensive skill players. Their offense featured a number of playmakers in 2022, but not enough appreciation has been shown toward the big boys upfront. Mason Faith Mason Faith 6’2″ | 245 lbs | OL Rock Creek | 2025 State KS was one of the Mustangs’ top offensive linemen in 2022, and he makes his debut at No. 95 overall. Faith’s 3A All-State Honorable Mention year was a big reason why the Mustangs’ offense was able to average 42 points per game, and accumulate over 4,800 total yards last fall.
Despite being undersized for his position, this next prospect still managed to put together a 3A All-State Honorable Mention season. Tristan Sprole Tristan Sprole 6’0″ | 195 lbs | DL Wichita Collegiate | 2025 State KS of Wichita Collegiate was an absolute problem for opposing 3A offensive linemen. He used his quickness to his advantage throughout the ’22 campaign, which led to more than 10 tackles for loss for the sophomore. Sprole’s debut now makes it 17 defensive linemen ranked inside the Top 100, as he checks in at No. 96 overall.
It’s still early, but so far Class 3A has been a hotbed for quarterbacks from the Class of ’25. Folks have already been introduced to prospects such as Josh Burdick Josh Burdick 6’0″ | 180 lbs | QB Cheney | 2025 State KS and Aiden Milliren Aiden Milliren 6’0″ | 170 lbs | QB Bishop Ward | 2025 State KS , but they’ve yet to meet Jett Wahlmeier Jett Wahlmeier 5’10” | 185 lbs | QB Hayden | 2025 State KS of Hayden. Wahlmeir joins his fellow 3A All-State Honorable Mention signal callers, as he enters the rankings at No. 97 overall. The 13th ranked quarterback helped guide Hayden to a 10-2 record in 2022, and completed 63% of his passes while throwing for over 1,300 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Garrett Pierce Garrett Pierce 5’9″ | 175 lbs | LB Basehor-Linwood | 2025 State KS of Basehor-Linwood wraps up this second Welcome to the Rankings, as he makes his debut just inside the Top 100 at No. 99 overall. Pierce is poised to become the Bobcats’ top linebacker this fall after finishing his sophomore year second on the team in total tackles. He’d end his first varsity season with 66 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and three interceptions. The All-UKC performer has the potential to be a tackling machine during his junior year.
