Johnson is a gifted athlete with excellent top end speed. At 6’1” 165 lbs. he’s a long strider with a sustained burst that allows him to stretch the field vertically or turn short passes into long gains after the catch. Flashes good start stop speed and suddenness to break off defenders at the top of his routes and create separation by accelerating out of his cuts. Really strong ball skills, he shows a great ability to come down with contested catches in traffic by attacking the ball at the high point using his body control and coordination. A very exciting player to watch that can attack the field at all three levels and can also be explosive in the return game. Finished the 2022 season with 88 receptions for just under 1,200 yards and eight touchdowns. Recruitment has been on a steady rise since picking up his first offer from Colorado State almost a year ago. He now holds 10 D1 offers including four PAC12 programs.
Varvel checks a lot of boxes as a D1 wideout with his combination of length, speed, and ball skills. At 6’3” 180 lbs. he’s got a solid frame that contributes to his large catch radius and also holds good growth potential. A dual sport athlete (football/track) that shows good burst in the short area to create separation and the long speed to breakaway. Recently ran a personal record in both the 300 hurdles with a 39.72 and the 110 with a 15.2. Not only a deep threat using his speed but can also be a sharp route runner at the short and intermediate levels. Strong at the catch point, he does a great job boxing out defenders to create open throwing lanes especially on jump balls and in the red zone. Dangerous after the catch, he has the ability to find space and break open or use his strength to fight through contact. Recruiting stock is on the rise with his first few offers coming recently from all three military academies and Bowling Green but expect many more programs to come through and offer him as the recruiting cycle progresses.
Berryhill is coming off a huge breakout season as a junior that saw him rack up 51 receptions for over 900 yards and 10 touchdowns. A plus athlete with a strong and well-built frame at 6’0” 180 lbs. He runs well and can use his deceptive speed to slip by coverage and stretch the field vertically. Fast out of his stance, he’s got good acceleration and flashes a great drive phase to press/break the DB’s cushion. Confident hand catcher that does a good job extending and catching the ball away from his body, especially in traffic across the middle. Tracks and adjusts well to ball flight with the ability to compete for the ball at the high point. Tough to tackle after the catch, he’s strong at the POA showing great contact balance and ability to break tackles while extending gains. Should expect his recruiting attention to pick up as he’s able to showcase his ability and build on his connection with QB Cameron Hackworth Cameron Hackworth 5’9″ | 160 lbs | QB Sabino | 2024 State AZ in the explosive Sabino offense.
