Continue ReadingComing into this event, I wanted to see if Alex McClelland Alex McClelland 6'2" | 215 lbs | QB Barrington | 2024 State New E had what it takes to group with the big names at this event. My previous ranking suggests he might be a tier below the likes of Davian McDonald Davian McDonald 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Williston Northampton | 2025 State New E and Carter Carroll Carter Carroll 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Boston College | 2025 State New E . Seeing the Barrington junior perform after 3 hours of work, he proved he’s more than worthy of being in that Top-20 quarterback conversation. For starters, I loved the intensity and attention to detail McClelland brought to every station at this event. As he should, McClelland had an open ear to coaching, progressively getting tighter and tighter as the event proceeded. He was out to prove something, I ended up naming him a top-three quarterback in what was a loaded group. Consider his stock rising.
In what was probably a shocker to most, I named Connor McFarland Connor McFarland 5’8″ | 160 lbs | QB Manchester Memorial | 2024 State New E , the smallest quarterback at the event, a top performer along with Alex McClelland Alex McClelland 6’2″ | 215 lbs | QB Barrington | 2024 State New E . Swagger, confidence, responsive to coaching during individuals. As a whole, McFarland might not wow over the likes of McDonald and McLeish, two prototypical passer prospects. Yet McFarland proved what I saw on tape, this kid can flat-out throw on par with any passer at the venue. I already ranked the Manchester Memorial passer relatively high considering his physical deficiencies. I’d bet on this young man more times than not.

The MVP of the group. Much like his tape, Carter Carroll Carter Carroll 6’3″ | 205 lbs | QB Boston College | 2025 State New E checked off several of the same boxes live as he does on film. That’s exactly what coaches at the next level want to see when bringing in a kid like Carroll to camp, verification. I feel great about my top five placement, I’ll consider the rank to be his floor, as opposed to his ceiling. Mechanically sound, showing off an efficient and clean throwing motion, Carroll was arguably the most polished passer at the event. Thanks to a consistent pre-throw package, Carroll was accurate and on time throughout the duration of the event. Nothing Coach Ortiz threw his way in terms of unorthodox drills caused Carroll to fluster.

The quarterback group was so good, we had to nitpick as to who would take Top Performer/MVP honors in this one. Thankfully, Davian McDonald Davian McDonald 6’2″ | 185 lbs | QB Williston Northampton | 2025 State New E made the cut, leaving Tommy McLeish Tommy McLeish 6’4″ | 195 lbs | QB King Philip Regional | 2024 State New E out although he was just as worthy. Davian McDonald Davian McDonald 6’2″ | 185 lbs | QB Williston Northampton | 2025 State New E passes the eye test early. He’s going to impress coaches before he even throws a pass. A phenomenal build, not just height/weight measurables, Davian McDonald Davian McDonald 6’2″ | 185 lbs | QB Williston Northampton | 2025 State New E displays a clear focus on building his body from the ground up. McDonald posted a phenomenal 9’5″ broad jump that showed off the explosiveness in his legs. You can tack on his mechanics. Might have the smoothest delivery of any 2025 passer I’ve seen at a camp in the Northeast. I think McDonald could have hit guys in the chest a bit more often, hardly an issue though. I came away pleased with our previous ranking, he fits the mold.
Tommy McLeish Tommy McLeish 6’4″ | 195 lbs | QB King Philip Regional | 2024 State New E got the short end of the stick in some ways. He was equally as impressive as anyone not named Carter Carroll Carter Carroll 6’3″ | 205 lbs | QB Boston College | 2025 State New E . McLeish is equally as polished a passer as McDonald, and the King Philip quarterback might’ve flashed the liveliest arm at the event. Outside of the event, McLeish stands as one of my favorite rising quarterback prospects, and the young man did nothing but verify that personal evaluation. The best build, a frame that carried itself well enough during testing. Consistent motion, and plenty of torque on the football. Looking back almost immediately, McLeish deserved some additional post-event love. That being said, I’m ready to place this young man inside of the top 10 next update. We’ll see who McLeish can hop.

Aidan Thomas Aidan Thomas 6’2″ | 170 lbs | QB Portsmouth | 2024 State New E was a pleasant surprise. Great size, a seasoned approach to the more cerebral drills put in front of him. Much like the top performers at his position, he didn’t look like a deer-in-headlights. A top-50 New England passer, Thomas showed that I shouldn’t forget about his name moving forward. His footwork was as polished as anyone at the camp. The young man has a ceiling that he has yet to reach, yet Portsmouth has to be pleased with where he stands currently. I’m excited to keep my eye on him moving forward.

Seth Ly
Seth Ly
Jacques and Ly both had their issues throughout the camp, yet I still came away impressed by both prospects. I can imagine both land somewhere on our next rankings update, as each possesses enough talent to be excited about, especially serving as current underclassmen. Excited about Seth Ly’s skill set, as he is just a freshman at Lowell HS.
