Through the first few classifications of small-school honorees, there were eight first- or second-team all-state hoops standouts who were also big-time playmakers for their schools on the football field in the fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='285283' first='Kohen' last='Rowbatham'] — 6-1, 180 ATH — Northshore (2024)

The rundown of all-state basketball honorees for the smaller classifications referenced the rarified air of East Feliciana standout [player_tooltip player_id='285194' first='Trey'Dez' last='Green']'s recruiting level in both sports. The next man up on that list is likely Rowbatham — a strong, explosive athlete considered among the state's top hoops prospects for his and Green's class and a heck of a football player in his own right. Rowbatham earned all-district honors in both sports and District 6-5A MVP and all-state first-team honors on the court with averages 24 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals per game this season to help lead the Panthers to the quarterfinals.

Warren Young Jr. — 6-1, 190 ATH — Walker (2023)

The versatile, three-phase standout on the football field has been an all-district performer and clear leader for the Wildcats in both sports, including all-state second-team recognition for the third straight basketball season. Young averaged 17.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists per contest to help lead Walker to a sixth straight state tournament appearance.

Jonathan Bradshaw — 6-3, 210 WR — Ouachita Parish (2023)

The Lions' big, physical receiver was a handful on the basketball court with 15 points and seven rebounds to earn district MVP honors is an always-competitive 2-5A, Player of the Year honors in an always-competitive northeast Louisiana and all-state second-team honors in Louisiana's highest classification. The Southern-Shreveport signee helped lead Ouachita to the quarterfinals.

[player_tooltip player_id='639473' first='Christian' last='Walker'] — 6-1, 190 ATH — New Iberia (2023)

The Yellow Jackets' standout athlete on the football field, primarily as a receiver with more than 1,300 all-purpose yards, earned all-state second-team honors for his tough, leadership role in the basketball program's first state tournament run since 1999 and title-game appearance since 1958. Walker averaged a double-double with 14.6 points, 11.7 assists and 4.8 rebounds per contest.
