Washington | 2024
State
| Washington |
The proto-type all-purpose back who can do everything you as of your running back. He’s versatile, physical, can catch the ball out of the backfield, line up in the slot, block, you name it. He’s so versatile that on his 7v7 team he also plays DB. On the day Landon ran an impressive 4.65 laser forty and had a 31″ vertical jump with a 4.2 pro agility shuttle time displaying his quickness. He had great hands and showed very good separation against linebackers in one on ones. As a junior he was the Blue Jays leading rusher and also led them in touchdowns scored.

but got his share of the carries and made the most of them. Brown is physically impressive at 6’1″ 208 and shows great strength, toughness and power he also has good straight line speed and explosiveness with a 9’9″ broad jump and 31″ vertical jump at the combine. He’ quick as well and timed a 4.4 in the pro agility. Brown also plays linebacker and could wind up on that side of the ball in college. As a junior Payton ran for 839 yards and 13 touchdowns with his opportunities.
Kendal Hammond | South Shelby |
One of the strongest and most athletic running backs at the combine. Hammond is an impressive physical specimen who you can tell spends a lot of time in the weight room. A big back at 6’2″ 200, Kendal had been in a car accident and suffered a broken nose the previous week but still showed up and showed out with his performance at the combine. He’s a strong and explosive athlete who hit 34″ in the vertical jump and 9’4″ in the broad jump. He also has good quickness in the pro agility with a time of 4.5. He’s another two-way standout who could also play linebacker on the next level. He showed good hands catching the ball and was impressive in drills going all out in every rep.
Isaiah Julian | Ladue |
Julian was impressive on the day showing his speed and quickness. He was the Rams leading rusher in 2022. He stood out with a 4.6 forty time and 4.0 pro agility time showing superior quickness in that event as well as in drills and one on ones. Isaiah also shows good strength and runs hard. He also has flashed the ability to catch the ball well.
Jamarion Smith | Portageville |
One of the top rusher in the state of Missouri in 2022. This small town running back showed his talents on the day as to why he had such a successful junior year. He was a workhorse his junior year and was among the top running backs at the combine with his athleticism and skills displayed in drills, one on ones and in testing. He has solid speed with good ability to change direction and impressive quickness. He goes hard every play.
DJ Burgess
DJ
Burgess
5'8" | 190 lbs | RB
Parkway Central | 2024
State
| Parkway Central |
Burgess was another impressive junior running back in attendance. Not the biggest back there but is very strong and runs powerfully using his jackhammer feet to eat up yardage. He’s a fun back to watch with his energy and physicality he brings in everything he does. He did well in the pro agility and had a 27″ vertical jump. DJ does his best work with his pads on between the tackles. He ran for over 1,700 yards and 27 touchdowns as a junior. He has shown me that he is a definite college prospect.
Dawson Howell | West Plains |
The biggest back at the combine was the 249-pound Howell, who despite his size had good speed and was very quick on the day in drills and one of ones. Dawson is a good athlete and tested well with an impressive 27″ vertical at almost 250 and 6-feet tall and showed good quickness as well with a 4.5 pro agility shuttle. He has good speed, power and explosion in his movements. He can not only run but also catches the ball well and is a good blocker. I could see him playing fullback or H-back on the next level. I believe he is also going to play on the defensive side of the ball this coming season and may wind up there in college.
Kylan Wallace
Kylan
Wallace
5'9" | 165 lbs | RB
Kirkwood | 2024
State
| Kirkwood |
Kylan has gotten significant time on varsity since he was a freshman and looks like he will have a big senior year for the Pioneers. He’s physically developed at 5’11” 202 with good speed, quickness, cutting ability and can explode through the hole or make his own with his strength. He hit a 30″ vertical in his jump and also showed his straight-line speed and a nice ability to get open and catch the ball. This will be his year to shine.
Caden Raftery | Crystal City |
Another small school back who should have a big senior year. Caden came to the combine and worked hard putting up some nice numbers with a 4.5 pro agility and 26″ vertical jump his best at testing. He was Crystal City’s leading rusher with over 800 yards as a junior and should increase on that number in 2023.
