The offenses didn’t fail to show grace and elegance during last weekend’s rumble in the mountains. However, it was the defensive prowess of a few Texas athletes that made the elegance of offensive precision on the west coast resemble more of the rumble in the jungle; courtesy of the south.
DEFENSIVE BACKS
Tice Legend Williams |2024| 6’2.5 | 187 | 4.48 40 | FS/WR/ATH | Conroe HS| Conroe, TX|
Tice Legend Williams is a long and rangy playmaker. In a game where length is gold; Williams is a 6’2.5 190 pound student of the game and coach on the field at the safety/cornerback position. He can be seen every game pointing and barking out defensive cues, coming down hard on runners, and solidifying the roof on the deep ball. During a post-game interview with Coach Grant of Team Texas Fury 7v7, praise was given to Coach Cedric Hardeman of the Conroe Tigers for his foresight in utilizing the athlete on both sides of the ball. Williams served a 365 day UIL athletic transfer block that cost him 10 varsity games between his 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. In response, Williams simply took the 6 remaining games and became an All-District (8 tackles a game) & All-Academic District (4.2 GPA) performer in half the time! Williams has also completed 3 7v7 tournaments this year with the last being the Pylon Showcase in Las Vegas, NV where he continued his lockdown streak from the corner and safety positions respectfully. Tice Williams Tice Williams 6'3" | 190 lbs | DB Conroe | 2024 State TX recently received offers from the University of Pennsylvania and Dartmouth University respectfully. The 2022-23 season stats include 47 tackles in 6 games (8 per game), 2 forced fumbles, 10 pass breakups, 5 touchdowns, and only allowed 2 catches all season. This guy is a high-IQ madman on the field with a nose for the ball. The tape doesn’t lie. Remember you heard it here first…

Mairon Lewis |2024| 5’10 | 173 | 4.53 40 | Porter HS| Porter, TX|
Mairon “Tudda” Lewis of Porter High School was a madman in coverage at the Pylon Las Vegas 7v7 national tournament this past weekend. Tudda is a muscular 5 ’10 165 pound cornerback/receiver that comes across as quiet but plays extremely loud. Some may venture to say that he has a switch or alter ego in his bag. With blanket coverage on Saturday and Sunday outings; Tudda made a name for himself while representing Texas football against the country’s best receivers. Coming off of a 1st team All-District selection for 2022-23, look for Mairon “Tudda” Lewis to continue to gain exposure and traction on the recruiting circuit. Remember you heard it here first…
- Intangibles: closing speed, man techniques, great eyes when reading the receiver’s hips, patience to stay square in press, doesn’t compromise his leverage
- Work in progress: Continue speed training and improve zone techniques.
- Collegiate Interest: TSU, PVAM

Conrad Levy Jr |2024| 5’10 | 160 | 4.58 40 | Conroe HS| Conroe, TX|
Conrad Levy Jr. is a do it all defensive back that thrives in zone or man concepts. Levy comes in slightly undersized at 5 ’10 and weighing 160 but none of these things matter when it comes to his attention to detail in coverage. Levy stated in an interview “I understand what scouts may say about my height, but just as taller receivers can master playing above him he is busy dictating them from below; styles make fights.” Levy excels in reading and locking to the receiver’s hips while being handsy to manipulate the path of an intended route runner. Levy is quick, twitchy, and feisty with a nose for the football. Remember you heard it here first…
- Intangibles: IQ, plays with leverage, footwork, patient and square against the two-way go, tenacity
- Work in progress: Top end speed, weight, height, and can at times become aloof on film but with age and maturity has the potential to be lockdown.
- Collegiate Interest: Montana St, McNeese

Isaiah Pruitt Isaiah Pruitt 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Conroe | 2024 State TX |2024| 5’11.5 | 180 | 4.4 40 | Conroe HS| Conroe, TX|
Isaiah Pruitt Isaiah Pruitt 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Conroe | 2024 State TX is a sleeper at the cornerback position. At first glance, one might assume that the Conroe High School defensive back was a running back. Standing at 5’11.5 180 and running a laser 4.4 in the 40 (10.8 100m); Pruitt was a cloud of disruption in coverage during the 22-23 district 13-6A season and presently for Team Texas Fury on the national 7v7 circuit. Under Conroe Tiger head coach Cedric Hardeman’s leadership, Pruitt has become a fast riser pick based on his season stats as a physical cornerback and his ability to play the nickel on the 7v7 circuit. During the season he amassed 10 PBU, 38 Tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery. His God-given speed has been on display in the latest Houston Shock Doctor tournaments and Las Vegas Pylon Showcase. Pruitt also gained top 5 defensive back accolades from the Next Level D1 top 100 Showcase. Look for his recruitment to take off as he continues to rack up impressive showings against ranked receivers on the circuit. Remember you heard it here first…
- Intangibles: Speed, Power in man techniques, patience to stay square in press, excellent at defending the two-way go, intentional tackler
- Work in progress: Needs to maximize his impressive physical abilities every play and improve zone techniques.
- Collegiate Interest: Texas Tech, North Texas, Montana St, McNeese
- Fun Fact: Pruitt transitioned from a running back to a defensive back and still made the 13-6A All-District team.

Jake Wilson Jake Wilson 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Byron Nelson | 2023 State TX |2024| 6’4.5 | 215 | 4.8 | TE | Lake Creek HS| Montgomery, TX|
Jake Wilson Jake Wilson 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Byron Nelson | 2023 State TX of Lake Creek High School is a budding state of Texas prospect at 6’4.5 215 pounds. He should be one of the cornerstones of a program that went an outstanding 10-0 for Coach Pat Kennedy last season. Wilson is a fluid-hipped tight end that thrives at knowing when and where to get large or skinny on the field. He has catcher’s mitts for hands and a high in-game IQ to assess how the defense is attempting to neutralize him in coverage. Academics and character are a plus with Wilson and I expect that based on the 7v7 circuit numbers from Shock Doctor and the Pylon showcase; traction in recruitment should pick up exponentially.
- Intangibles: Route running, 50/50 ball, strong frame, IQ
- Work in progress: Needs to continue to develop top end speed.
- ✔ Collegiate Interests: Montana State, University of Penn (Ivey), Wyoming, Navy, Army, Bryant, Vanderbilt, Baylor, Western Kentucky, Kansas, Kansas State, Mississippi State
