The combine series is hosted by the Florida High School 7v7 Association who partnered with the Florida Athletic Coaches Association and Catapult Sports. The goal is to provide reliable measurables and test time scores through Wearable GPS Technology which collects data on combine participants.
The Sunshine State Combine Series shares all test results directly with an expansive college database to help with recruiting and evaluating. The event on Sunday included various athletes from around the state including the greater Orlando area, down into the Polk County region, and as far out east as Merrit Island. Many of the recruits that attended were sleeper prospects that deserve proper recognition. As always, Prep Redzone Florida aims to shine a light on ALL student-athletes attempting to play at the next level. There will be more articles to follow this list of MVP standouts but let’s get into it!
Holliday immediately stood out and was one of the first players noted because of his well-built frame and fluid movement during shuttle drills. That initial impression transitioned during competitive drills as Holliday was chosen as the top DB standout of the day. The 6’2, 180-pound junior finished second on the team at Deltona High with 55 total tackles, including 6.0 TFL, and 1.0 sack. Holliday is another talented prospect playing with the Certified Dawgs 7v7 squad and should continue to develop his overall skillset at the position. He made a name for himself today for good coverage during the 1v1 and 7-on-7 periods while showing off fluid hip movements and good IQ needed to anticipate as a defensive back.
Devin Voltaire

The 6’2, 190-pound sophomore was the most gifted wide receiver prospect at the Sunshine State Combine Series as he took home the WR MVP award. Voltaire has a really good frame but more importantly is that he understands how to leverage off smaller defensive backs in his route running. He caught nearly every ball thrown his way during the 1v1 period and wasn’t afraid to go rep-for-rep to gain extra experience. Look out for Voltaire to add even more weight and tone to his build to go with his reliable hands and decent speed. Plenty of upside and already has the frame to play at the next level.
Xavier “Buddha” James
Xavier “Buddha” James
The Rockledge running back product made his name known today at the Sunshine State Combine Series and earned the overall MVP award while showing off shifty footwork and good speed throughout various drills and competitions. The 5’7, 175-pound sophomore has subtle quick feet and impressive agility to shake-n-bake defenders in the open field. I foresee James getting more opportunities as he shows off his bag of skills during this offseason. Nice compact build with good hands out the backfield and footwork to be a playmaker.
