With some schools beginning to reach out to some of the upcoming stars in the game, it’s important to know about kids that are about to break the internet. The Class of 2027 is loaded with TONS of undiscovered talent around the country and here are some athletes that you need to know about now.
Dual-threat quarterbacks are always fun to watch. With them being able to do almost everything on the football field, they can be a headache to prepare for and Cohen Thomas Cohen Thomas 6’0″ | 165 lbs | QB Smiths Station | 2027 AL fits the bill. Standing at 6’0 and 160 pounds, the Alabama quarterback put on quite the showcase of his skills this past season. In the pocket, Cohen has a very calm nature about himself and handles defensive pressure with poise and his eyes always looking downfield. On the run, Cohen moves well (4.9 forty) and proves capable of escaping pressure when needed. As a passer, Cohen throws a nice, easy ball whether he is sitting in the pocket or on the run. The final thing that impresses me about Cohen is his understanding of where to place the ball while his receivers are on the run. With his ball placement, he can complete safe throws to his receivers and create easy completions. The next four years of development should be fun to watch.
Highlights
Ruben Bravo Ruben Bravo 5’9″ | 155 lbs | ATH Tucson | 2027 AZ is a big-time defensive back and wide receiver out of Tucson, Arizona who is set to make waves through the recruiting landscape very soon. The Grand Canyon State back-end athlete sizes up to be 5’9 and 140 pounds which carry over to dominant performances on the football field. On the gridiron, Bravo is a quick stepper who can cover an insane amount of ground in a short amount of time. With that, Ruben also proves to have the change of direction capability to contend for any ball thrown on the field. With all of his abilities stacked up, you are likely going to find him on an island disrupting any pass that comes his way, or breaking away with the ball as he heads to the end zone. From what I have seen, Bravo is a kid with awesome upside potential and is set to make some noise on the football field very soon. His stock has risen considerably over the last 365 days.
Ja’Vion Walker Ja’Vion Walker 5’10” | 160 lbs | RB Pulaski Academy | 2027 State AR is a big play machine at running back. The Arkansas athlete stands around 5’10 and weighs around 160 pounds. On the football field, Ja’Vion can create big plays with his speed and strength. From what I have seen from him so far, it is clear that he is one of the more dynamic athletes in the state at this point. With him being able to align in the backfield or split out, and still generate big plays, he has proven that he can do just about anything on the offensive side of the ball at an extremely high level. From What I can tell, Ja’Vion has tremendous upside potential and has already shown that he is one of the best on the field in every given play. I am very excited to watch Walker ball out in the years to come.
Cash Williams Cash Williams 6’2″ | 155 lbs | QB CO is Colorado quarterback that should be on everyone’s radar right now. The Rocky Mountain quarterback stands at 6 feet tall and weighs right around 160 pounds with a tremendous arm. Cash seems to be money in the pocket with an absolute cannon for an arm. With his arm strength, Cash can seemingly hit his deep targets at just about anywhere on the field. One of the most significant parts of Cash’s game, is that his throwing capability on the run is just as good as it is in the pocket. With him being such a versatile quarterback, he can move the ball in almost every fashion and through any route concept. Cash has some exciting potential for the future. Having said that, I am very excited to watch Cash continue to ball out in the future. He’s certainly in line to be one of the top 2027 Quarterbacks in the state.
Adrian Williams Adrian Williams 6’2″ | 250 lbs | OL Trinity Christian Academy | 2027 FL is a big, disruptive defensive lineman to know ahead of high school. The Sunshine State defensive lineman has good size and a high motor. In the trenches, Adrian is one of the more explosive kids that I have seen in this position group for the 2027 class. He couples his explosiveness with speed. With him blowing through the line of scrimmage he can chase down the ball carrier with supreme ease and make plays regularly. With him putting together such a dominant season this past year with the Duval Jaguars, it is clear that Adrian could become one of the top interior guys in the state. If he can add some more height and keep progressing, he should continue to dominate in the seasons to follow. Big things are coming for Williams if he continues to follow this trajectory.
Carson Bryant Carson Bryant 5’11” | 165 lbs | WR SC is another wideout in the class of 2027 to get acquainted with as soon as possible. The 5’11 and 165-pound Palmetto State product is a dangerous dual-sport athlete who excels at both football and baseball. With him being such a home run threat on the field, it appears that he can be a quarterback’s best friend in the way that he produces big plays in such a large clip. Carson is a sure-handed, reception factory receiver who is going to grab the ball no matter how much traffic is around him. Carson also has the speed on the field to create devastatingly big plays after he makes the catch. If he gets even a tiny bit of space, he ican break off a long run after the catch. From what I have seen from Carson it is clear that he has a shot to excel in either football or baseball, possibly both, at the next level. South Carolina high school football fans, get ready.
