College recruiting never stops. With some schools beginning to reach out to some of the upcoming stars in the game, it’s important to know about kids that are about to break the internet. The Class of 2027 is loaded with TONS of undiscovered talent around the country and here are some athletes that you need to know about now.
Elias Tulifua is a sleeping giant up in the PNW for the class of 2027. The Evergreen State Athlete measures up to 5’11 and weighs 175 pounds and trains with FSP–which means more than likely, you can ball. On the football field, Elias is one of those rare cats that can compete on either side of the ball at a high level. On the offensive side of the ball, Elias is a threat with his quick speed. With him being a short to intermediate route specialist, Elias can hit his route landmarks fast for short and easy completions. Another thing that makes Elias a rare commodity is that he is fearless when he is running routes over the middle of the field. With him being so strong on slants and shallows, he has no problem running head-on into the heart of the defense to make plays. From what I have seen from Elias, I am positive that he is going to end up being one of the most sought-after athletes out of the state of Washington. The sky is the limit for Elias if he keeps progressing and his future will be exciting.
Seantavious Perrin Seantavious Perrin 5’7″ | 135 lbs | WR SC is an explosive athlete whom everyone needs to keep tabs on, as he heads into his high school career. The Palmetto State playmaker measures up to 5’7 and 135 pounds but his impact is significantly bigger than his smaller size. On the field, Seantavious is a twitchy route runner who has the athleticism to break in and out of routes smoothly and effectively. Seantavious also has special ball skills, as well. No matter where the ball is thrown, or if there is traffic around him, Seantavious naturally positions his body to be in the best spot to catch the ball. From everything that I have seen from Perrin, I am confident that he is going to make a name for himself at the high school level. The skill set that he has on the football field makes him a standout. If he can tack on some size as he moves to the next level, there will be open doors and welcome mats for him on the next level.
Drew Easter is another dual sport athlete to have on your radar as he gears up for his high school career. The 6’2 and 200-pound Tar Heel State defensive lineman excels both on the football field and on the basketball court. In the trenches, Drew is a strong and explosive defender who has no problem making plays in the backfield. With him being physical by nature, he has no problem wrapping up the ball carrier and bringing up down for countless tackles for loss. Drew is also a craftsman with his hands and has shown to throw several different moves at his opponents as he works to get off blocks. Drew is one of those kids who looks to have the “it” factor about him. If he keeps this up, he is going to dominate on Friday nights soon.
Nayshawn is a shifty athlete who looks like he can play anywhere on the football field with ease. The 5’11, 140-pound Garden State product looks to be an inside receiver that can be a threat in the quick game. With his quick-twitch speed, Carter can hit his top-end speed in a few steps which can lead him to get open earlier than his counterparts at this level. Once Nayshawn has the ball in his hands, he is good for a chunk of yards after the catch as well. With him being such a big play threat on offense, I am sure that he is an absolute nightmare to prepare for on the defensive side of the ball. Nayshawn has very exciting potential. With everything that I have seen from him, I would not be surprised for him to be one of the breakout athletes in this class in the years to come.
Christian Wells is a dangerous defensive back that everyone needs to keep tabs on in the class of 2027. The Peach State athlete measures 5’7 and 150 pounds. In pass coverage, Christian shows off good knee bend and hip flexibility as he paces with his wideout. Christian is also very good in his transition from backpedal to sprinting in coverage. With his flexibility, coupled with the transition, Christian has the ability to be very effective on the backend. What takes his game to the next level is his ability to track the ball in the air. Quarterbacks need to watch out for Christian when he is in coverage, Wells has shown to be more than capable of breaking up what ever comes his way through the air.
Trae Taylor is a quarterback from the Land of Lincoln that has made waves through the football landscape as of late. Standing at 5’10, Trae has a cannon for an arm and is no stranger to offensive production. Trae is active in the pocket and has no problem setting up and releasing the ball quickly. Trae also has a knack for escaping out of the pan pocket and extending plays when he feels pressure. With excellent touch on his throws, Trae places his passes well through all route variations. From what I have seen, Trae is one of the more impressive arms in this class and there is no wonder why he has already collected an offer from the University of Maryland. He’s also been on visits to other Big10 powerhouses, such as Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State. If Trae keeps this up, he could see many more big-time offers roll in throughout his high school career at Carmel Catholic in Illinois.
Highlights
Keegan Boukamp is another quarterback to keep your eye on as he makes the jump up to the high school ranks. The 6’3 lefty gunslinger is a reclass prospect and made the move from Tennessee to Indiana this past year. The now Hooiser State product is starting to put everything together and is starting to really look the part. Keegan has smooth-moving feet in the pocket and has a very natural throwing motion. Keegan puts a nice touch on the ball that allows him to accurately place the ball on his targets. Boukamp is also fearless in the pocket, with him being able to evade defenders, there is nothing that he can’t handle when he has the ball in his hands. From everything that I have seen from Keegan, it is clear that he has the talent to take the midwest by storm over the next couple years. Big things are coming for Keegan and it shouldn’t be long until his first offer comes.
Braylen Warren is a quarterback coming out of the Cornhusker state with some elite arm talent. The 5’11, 160 pound gunslinger has proven time and time again that he can produce some big numbers in the pocket and has a stock that is certainly rising. Braylen has a smooth throwing motion that allows an easy ball to hit his receivers. In the pocket, Braylen is poised and is a strong decision-maker with the ball in his hands. Lastly, Braylen has an explosive arm that allows him to hit deep routes without compensating for his accuracy. From what I have seen from Braylen, he is a big play machine that can put together prime-time stats throughout a given football season. If he keeps this up, the state of Nebraska better watch out for this elite arm.
