Colton Miles Colton Miles 6'2" | 250 lbs | OL Fort Calhoun | 2025 State NE | OL | Fort Calhoun | 6’2″ 250 lbs
#9 OL | #50 Overall
Fort Calhoun has a beast in their trenches with Colton Miles Colton Miles 6'2" | 250 lbs | OL Fort Calhoun | 2025 State NE . Colton was a pivotal player on the offensive and defensive line and looks like their bookend tackle for the next couple of seasons. What stood out the most from Colton’s tape was his physicality and mean streak on the field. He looked like a bulldozer in his tape, especially on run plays where he does a great job exploding through his blocks. When engaged with defenders, Miles knows how to use his hands and hips very well and always looks to finish his blocks with his opponent on the ground. He moves into the second level very well and can take on speed and power rushers in pass protection. On the defensive line, he plays with a fiery motor and can be seen making backside tackles and chasing scrambling QBs. Solid prospect with a ton of upside!
Ben Shafer Ben Shafer 6'2" | 200 lbs | ATH Papillion-La Vista South | 2025 State NE | DL/EDGE | Papillion-La Vista South | 6’2″ 200 lbs
#11 DL | #55 Overall
Ben Shafer Ben Shafer 6'2" | 200 lbs | ATH Papillion-La Vista South | 2025 State NE is a player I’m excited to see back on the field at 100% after an injury-shortened season. Even though he only played a part of the season, Ben finished with 30 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and a pass breakup. Ben was an interesting player to scout because of his unique skill set. He played defensive end but has the potential also to be a dangerous outside LB/EDGE defender, depending on how he continues to grow. He is explosive off the snap and plays aggressively with a great motor. Shafer shows the ability to fight off blocks, using a mix of speed and violent hands to break free at the line. Overall, Ben is a very good athlete that could also make some appearances at tight end.
Jackson Daum Jackson Daum 6'2" | 190 lbs | LB Gothenburg | 2025 State NE | LB | Gothenburg | 6’2″ 190 lbs
#10 LB | #79 Overall
Linebacker Jackson Daum Jackson Daum 6'2" | 190 lbs | LB Gothenburg | 2025 State NE was a nice surprise out of Gothenburg (some hidden gems there). Daum carved out a nice role for himself in the Swede’s defense and showed us several flashes of the downhill thumper he can be. Jackson is patient when diagnosing the play and can fire off quickly once he makes his read. For only being a sophomore, Jackson already has a nice frame at 6’2″ and 190 pounds with long arms and a long stride. He can close spaces quickly and can really use his size to lay the wood on some tackles. He mostly plays inside LB, but I am curious to see how he would do if you put him on the edge and let him do some head-hunting. Interested to see Jackson’s development!
