Jayden Potter Jayden Potter 6'6" | 300 lbs | OL Lincoln North Star | 2024 State NE | OL | North Star | 6’6″ 290 lbs
#5 OL; #30 overall
North Star’s Jayden Potter Jayden Potter 6'6" | 300 lbs | OL Lincoln North Star | 2024 State NE has been a steady riser this off-season. Along with a great junior season, the Gator’s mauler has continued to impress every time I’ve seen him in person, even claiming OL MVP honors at Stock Up. Right from the jump, Jayden passes the eye test at 6’6″ and 290 pounds and then continues to turn heads when you watch him move on the field. For being a bigger guy, he is quite nimble and quick on his feet, especially in lateral and short area movements. He does a great job making impactful first contact and is incredibly tough to shake when he gains inside leverage. Another thing that stood out to me from Jayden’s tape is his hand usage and his knack for finishing his blocks in the dirt, showing his physical aggressive play. Jayden also does a great job being consistent in his stance, never getting too high while maintaining consistent footwork. Potter picked up his first offer from Wayne State in late February, with several other schools looking to lock up this elite blocker!
Jeremiah Gorham Jeremiah Gorham 5'11" | 175 lbs | ATH Omaha Bryan | 2024 State NE | ATH | Omaha Bryan | 5’11” 175 lbs
#9 ATH; #52 Overall
Bryan Bear’s Jeremiah Gorham Jeremiah Gorham 5'11" | 175 lbs | ATH Omaha Bryan | 2024 State NE emerged as one of the most versatile athletes in class A, doing everything from rushing, receiving, passing, and playing defense. In his junior season, Jeremiah accumulated a total of 1,344 yards (265 passing, 628 rushing, and 451 receiving yards), 13 touchdowns (9 rushing & 4 receiving), and 42 tackles. When I watch his tape, I can’t help but notice how shifty of an athlete he is. Jeremiah is very elusive with the ball in his hands, using his suddenness and quick change of direction to break free for extra yards. Even when you get hands on him, he just doesn’t go down easy, using stiff arms, shoulders, and pumping his legs to fall forward. Jeremiah is a top-tier playmaker that you can feed the ball in various ways, and he can produce. I think he projects best at receiver, where he can use his speed and YAC ability to threaten defenses at all levels of the field. His 451 receiving yards, which set the school record, came on only 21 receptions for an average of 21 ypc. Big season coming up!
Jon Ferguson | DB | Millard West | 5’9″ 175 lbs
#7 DB; #76 Overall
I’ve said multiple times before that the Millard West secondary was one of the more underrated squads in Class A last season. One of the younger members of that group was junior Jon Ferguson, who looked like a very promising safety for the Wildcats. Ferguson’s ball skills and physicality are what stood out the most to me. Jon does very well at getting his hands up when the ball is in the air and can hand fight with receivers to break the ball loose. Jon is a smart center-field safety that can read and react quickly. In coverage, he shows solid change of direction and can cover a large chunk of field. He’s a very willing tackler that can step up and take on RBs in the box. Ferguson isn’t a huge DB, but he can make up for it with his sound tackling. He racked up 80 tackles, 8 pass breakups, and even blocked two kicks on special teams showing his playmaking ability. Ferguson stood out in our December Stock Up showcase, and I’m looking forward to seeing Jon continue to competing this offseason.
Tayzhon Johnson Tayzhon Johnson 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Omaha North | 2024 State NE | RB/LB | Omaha North | 6’0″ 195 lbs
#17 ATH; #90 Overall
The Vikings picked up a great addition in transfer Tayzhon Johnson Tayzhon Johnson 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Omaha North | 2024 State NE , who can step in and be an impact player on either side of the ball. At Central, Tayzhon played running back and outside linebacker, accumulating 483 rushing yards, 4 rushing touchdowns, 37 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a sack. Regardless of whether he’s on offense or defense, he plays aggressively and is intentional with every move he makes. Defensively, he has proven to be a solid run defender with smart gap play. He works best as a rush linebacker you can send to wreak havoc in backfields. He does a good job using his hands and strength to disengage at the LOS and has a tireless pursuit when he penetrates the protection. At running back, Tayzhon is a unique runner that can run north-south, beat you to the corner, take on contact, or cut his way into the open field. He isn’t going to kill you with his speed, but his balance and lower body strength can keep him upright for extra yardage after contact. I’m excited to see how the Vikings use him in their system.
Dalton Amen Dalton Amen 5'11" | 175 lbs | ATH Malcolm | 2024 State NE | WR/DB | Malcolm | 5’11” 175 lbs
#9 WR; #98 Overall
Malcolm WR Dalton Amen Dalton Amen 5'11" | 175 lbs | ATH Malcolm | 2024 State NE is a player that really impressed with his tape and saw a nice bump in the rankings. Dalton’s ability to stretch defenses vertically pops out right away in his tape. He finished his junior season with 23 receptions for 581 yards for an average of 25 yards per reception, and scored 6 touchdowns. What’s even more impressive is that he doesn’t always rely on top-end speed to get deep; he can win with his release off the line and uses good route-running to create separation. Amen is one of the better receivers at tracking the deep ball and can make body adjustments to come down with the ball. I caught him at the WA Top Prospects Showcase, where he performed very well as a DB. Fluid hips, quick feet, and great reaction time! Very solid prospect that is flying under the radar at the moment!
