I hooked up with the CEO of RecruitNE_GA, Coach D. He gave me tons of information and some insights on who are those underdogs in Georgia. Let’s dive in!
Preston Ratliff – QB – Lanier HS / @_PrestonRatliff
Ratliff has a smooth drop into a wide base that generates velocity. He has pocket maneuverability to get out of trouble. Ratliff won’t get caught on #1 and will work down in his progression. He can also throw on the run with touch. Cant wait to see what he has in stor this upcoming season.
Terry Jones – DE/TE – Statesboro HS / @Terry_Jones04
Jones displays exceptional ankle flexibility and lower body looseness for his size, which translates to above-average agility. He fires off the line with a quick, low, explosive drive that helps him win the initial leverage battle. Jones loads power with his compressed lower body before exploding into the lineman. This guy is a stud!
Muhammad Alcine – DE/OLB – Discovery HS / @AlcineMuhammad
Alcine successfully builds and maintains speed and momentum on stunts. His powerful hands and upper body stun offensive linemen. He possesses strength throughout his frame and powerful leg drive. Alcine dips and corners around the tackle’s outside shoulder, showing exciting bend. He has an impressive closing burst.
Wilson Reagan – OL – Eagles Landing Christian Academy / @WilsonReagan50
Reagan plays with a light switch mentality and flips it on between the stripes to become a tenacious mauler who plays through the whistle. He is blessed with prototype size, his strength and quickness could translate well into being the ultimate blindside protector at the next level. With his best football still ahead of him, don’t be surprised to see Reagan emerge as one of the top OL’s in Georgia.
Zyon McKenzie – WR – Blessed Trinity / @zyonmckenzie7
McKenzie displays active hands and arms when facing press coverage and uses an outside-in release with an arm-over move to handle press. When corners play off the line of scrimmage, McKenzie has long strides to quickly eats up their cushion, and his linear build-up speed is good enough to threaten defenses vertically. He shows a surprising amount of acceleration late on downfield routes. McKenzie incorporates hesitation moves into his routes and uses shoulder fakes to force defensive backs outside before cutting inside. He varies the speed of his routes and has a good understanding of where to find the holes in zone.
