Continue ReadingWEST DES MOINES– We check a few more times from the Seneca Wallace/Octane Football Combine at the RecPlex in West Des Moines this weekend where we got to evaluate a ton of talent from Iowa and South Dakota. This list has a combination of prospects still waiting for that well-deserved first offer in the 2024 class, 2025 prospects with an outstanding work-ethic, and a handful of 2026 prospects that have showed off some growing upside going into summer camp season and beyond. Let’s meet Part II of my standouts from Saturday.
William Stobbe William Stobbe 6'4" | 285 lbs | OL Waukee | 2024 State IA , OL, Waukee (IA) 2024 Twitter
- William showed up to the RecPlex in West Des Moines as a must-watch live prospect in my eyes, as I have scouted him a bunch on tape over the last several months, and getting a live evaluation showed off what we saw on tape even deeper.
- He showed off some superb strength not only from watching him on the bench press, but watching how well-versed his technique was in the offensive line group, as Stobbe showed off great footwork, great balance, and consistent pad-level from my eyes and showed off a leaner body type that could develop size-wise even more in a college football weight program as he has plenty of frame to fill out in his 6’3-6’4 size.
- William is the definition of a high IQ football prospect, and one that has some positional flexibility on both sides of the line at the next-level, and that translates best at the next-level as a left tackle, as William showed off in-person how reactive this young man is with his first step. Still quite surprised he hasn’t gotten his first offer yet, but I am sure that is coming soon!
Vinnie Keller Vinnie Keller 6'0" | 270 lbs | OL Clear Creek Amana | 2025 IA , OL, Clear Creek-Amana (IA) 2025 Twitter
- I said it on Saturday, and it’s worth repeating that I believe Clear Creek-Amana offensive linemen Vinnie Keller Vinnie Keller 6'0" | 270 lbs | OL Clear Creek Amana | 2025 IA won my award for one of the best work ethics in the building at the West Des Moines RecPlex on Saturday.
- Vinnie showed off a more agile first step from the last time I got a live evaluation on him at our Prep Redzone Showcases, and despite not being the biggest offensive linemen in the group, this young man plays with an extended chip on his shoulder and will give you his all on any rep out there he can give.
- I also can’t say enough about Vinnie’s grade A character he showed off on Saturday, as even as a younger 2025 prospect, I can already tell this young man will be a huge asset to any college football locker room. Excited to get more tape and watch him develop even more during camp season.
Gage Larson Gage Larson 6'3" | 185 lbs | LB Clear Lake | 2026 State IA , TE/ATH, Clear Lake (IA) 2026
- The length and catch radius Clear Lake’s Gage Larson Gage Larson 6'3" | 185 lbs | LB Clear Lake | 2026 State IA showed off in 1v1 reps at the Seneca Wallace Combine, was certainly intriguing to get a glimpse of on Saturday in West Des Moines.
- Gage also impressed me with his ball skills on Saturday, as a TE prospect that still is growing into his body, but one that in my eyes has a high football ceiling once he develops over the next few years for Clear Lake, as his size should be a considerable problem for defenses to get a hold of.
- No tape yet for Gage, but I will be excited to track this young man going forward as he enters his sophomore season at Clear Lake
Michael Dunagan Michael Dunagan 5'11" | WR Waukee Northwest | 2026 State IA , QB, Waukee Northwest (IA) 2026 Twitter
- Another 2026 prospect that caught my eyes on Saturday, was Waukee Northwest quarterback Michael Dunagan Michael Dunagan 5'11" | WR Waukee Northwest | 2026 State IA ,, who showed off some well-seen consistency when watching him throw live on Saturday in West Des Moines.
- Michael showed off a well-balanced touch ball on all three levels of the football field, and I was impressed with the growing poise he had with his deep-ball accuracy on Saturday. Michael also shows off on tape a quick release, and good mobility to utilize his legs quickly when getting out of the pocket.
- He also showed off on tape just how agile he is with his elusiveness in space, as he has the ability to change directions with some well-versed fluidity with his legs in his plethora. I certainly will have Michael on our upcoming Prep Redzone Iowa 2026 watchlist in the coming months.
Ramez Naba, DL/OL, West Des Moines Valley (IA) 2024 Twitter
- 25 reps was how many reps West Des Moines Valley offensive linemen Ramez Naba did on Saturday, and no, that is not a typo, as watching this young man’s strength unload was fun as heck to watch in testing and in individual drills at the Seneca Wallace Combine.
- At 6’3 315 pounds, Ramez showed good fire with his release off the snap than you would expect from a human of his stout size. Ramez also got some excellent wins with his great leverage on Saturday and you will see those similarities on his junior tape as well from the 2022 season.
- Ramez also shows off some intruging vision on tape, as he has a smooth-finding ability in the trenches to show off good physicality when connecting with the ball carrier as a highly active run stuffing nose-tackle, Ramez has that position flexibility in the trenches at the next level, but his best fit positionally in my eyes sits right at nose-tackle based on what I saw on Saturday as a prospect that has another year to develop an even quicker fire off the ball and development of his hand speed with his shedding ability.
