MINNESOTA-- Our Session 2 of our Minnesota Community Film Room puts a primary focus on Minnesota outstate football prospects. As an outstate native myself, I love putting my time and effort at Prep Redzone Minnesota back into the prospects that make the outstate Minnesota football so great as over the last several years, we have uncovered plenty of hidden gems that end up at the next-level in many divisions of college football that give off that "wow" factor once college coaches figure out where they are from in Minnesota. So let's get rolling with Session II!

[player_tooltip player_id='1140786' first='Harrison' last='Brun'], DB, Rockford (2024) Twitter

I am a big fan of the instincts Harrison plays with especially when the deep throws come his way, as he paints a smooth path and angles to capitalize his athletic ability especially with his solid vertical.

Harrison also checks my boxes with his football IQ, as he seems to always be in the proper spot at the right time with his excellent timing that on tape checks off consistently. He also shows great mobility with his crossover running ability

I was waiting to see the physicality he has as far as a hitter on tape, and that certainly pops out just over the one minute mark with a massive stick on the wide receiver. I love the instincts Harrison has all over the Rockets secondary as this young man is going to be an efficient safety at the next-level in my eyes. Division I and II interest so far.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150023' first='Bryce' last='Gapinski'], WR/ATH, Foley (2024) Twitter

Bryce's first look on tape shows much more length than you might read into at 5'11 175 pounds, as he made a lengthy one-handed grab that showed off some pure athleticism he has in his plethora.

Bryce shows off a very smooth release off the top of his route, and has really strong balance and body control when the ball is thrown just off line to adjust. He also shows that excellent body adjustment at the cornerback spot for the Foley Falcons, so college coaches should enjoy the position versatility this young man could bring at the next-level

I love watching Bryce burst into the open field beyond the second level, as he shows off solid longevity with his speed in the open field. I can see Bryce being a Minnesota small town prospect to watch out at Midwest prospect camps this summer.

Ethan Riley, DL, Sauk Centre (2024)

My first look of Ethan shows off such an active trigger off the snap and also has some very fast hands to shed off blockers in his 6'3 200 pound frame.

Although slightly undersized for the defensive tackle position, this Ethan has a ton of physicality in his hands and on contact, not mention the already stated speed on his pull off. Ethan wreaked a very efficient amount of havoc getting several sacks during the 2022 season.

He also has an effective trigger on his release of speed and I believe has a ton of upside to grow physically into a bigger frame in a college-level weight room.

Christian Larson, LB/DL/ATH, Roseau (2024) Twitter

Christian is a massive 6'5 225 pound that flexes out on tape as a linebacker, but one that has some strong instincts built in with his great vision that passes my eye test on both skillsets. Quite reactive chase down ability in the open field.

Christian might be one of the biggest mismatches positionally I have seen in the state thus far this year, as with that frame I mentioned also brings good bones of physicality on contact.

His tape is super light from the 2022 season and makes me want more, but Christian sure fits the bill as a diamond in the rough football prospect from the hockey mecca of Roseau, Minnesota.

Spencer Ness, LB, Bemidji (2024) Twitter

Golly, the accelerator Spencer has off the snap has some gas to it as he has that superb vision to fire right into the rabbit hole of the ball carrier.

Spencer has that sideline to sideline range he can cover as a middle linebacker and plays with a strong heat of stamina rep after rep.

He also has more strength in his 5'10 200 pound body than you would expect, as one particular play he came out of nowhere on the goal line and used his athletic frame to seal off the ball carrier from getting in the end zone. Super hard nosed linebacker prospect to watch for out Bemidji this summer and beyond.

[player_tooltip player_id='551313' first='Brayden' last='Staples'], LB, Alexandria (2024) Twitter

Brayden shows off his hammer-down physicality when you least expect it on tape, as this kid's first clip comes out of nowhere but you can just evaluate from that one rep that this young man plays with a lot of instinct.

He also shows off some solid shedding hands that can get into the backfield quickly with his athleticism he shows off on every rep. Brayden is certainly a linebacker prospect that plays way bigger than his 6'2 185 pound measurables as such a physical knock-back tackler.

He also has some upside in pass coverage, as I love the rangy area this linebacker can cover and has that quick trigger I love to evaluate with our LBs. Brayden is one I could see taking off this summer at prospect camps.

[player_tooltip player_id='242403' first='Anton' last='Kadlec'], OL, Hutchinson (2024) Twitter

Talk about a OL prospect you can assure will block until the whistle blows, time to meet Hutchinson offensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='242403' first='Anton' last='Kadlec'].

I absolutely love how aggressive Anton is with his hands, as he gets such dominant leverage with a consistent pad-level that consistently can blow up the defensive linemen into the second level with always an efficient finish at 6'3 295 pounds.

I also love the strength Anton has with his angle blocking, as this kid has so much upside as we look at the next level and an offensive line prospect I could see being a stockriser in the 2024 class at prospect camps this summer. Anton is also a high GPA kid with a 3.7 GPA.

[player_tooltip player_id='551337' first='Da'vion' last='Jackson'], QB, St. Cloud Apollo (2025) Tape

Da'vion shows off likely their biggest offensive spark in the Eagles future, showing off a QB prospect that can thread the needle with his ball placement which shows efficiency in higher traffic areas.

Da'vion also shows off multi-level arm strength and ample precision for his wide receivers to catch and go. He also shows off smooth touch when you get to watch his quick release.

I would say the biggest development for Da'Vion is to develop his instinct with his changing progressions. At times, he digs too deep into one wide receiver and could utilize his eyes smoother however he has a couple more seasons to keep growing that skillset!
