It’s our last week of the Carolinas Stock Up Showcase, where we’ve been highlighting prospects who took part in the Showcase back in January. If you missed last week’s episode, check it out here.
This week, we’ve got a duo of Pee Dee running backs with an excellent burst of speed and power once they get into the open field and a quarterback who can keep plays alive when the play breaks down.
Sharpe has a really impressive skill set for him to only be a rising junior. And it’s easy to see why he was called into varsity action. He has the touch on his throws to let his receiver run right underneath it and catch it in stride. Or he can keep plays alive on a designed rollout and if a play breaks down. He won’t give up on a play if his first read isn’t there and keeps his eyes downfield. He’s also a better runner than people probably want to give him credit for. He finished the 2022 season with 2,209 passing yards and 30 touchdowns.
This is the second of two Williamsburg Academy running backs that we’ve talked about in the last few weeks. Ward is like a battering ram at running back: Can make great cuts at the line of scrimmage, can run from sideline and he can catch the ball out of the backfield. He’s tough to bring down because of his size and he will run defenders over. That same physicality and toughness translates over on defense as he can come up from his linebacker and lay a solid hit on the ball carrier, as he finished with 96 tackles in 2022. He had 86 carries for 1032 yards and 15 TDs.
Highlights
Williams is a tough, physical runner who is hard to bring down once he gets a head of steam. He can change direction and explode once he gets into the open field. One of the things that was impressive in watching his film is seeing his ability to catch the ball out of the back field and then showing the ability to make guys miss. He is transferring from Hillcrest to Woodmont, where he rushed for 13 touchdowns for the Rams in 2022.

Wilson has great vision at the running back position and he can pick his way and find space to run to. Darlington used him on outside zone plays and he knew where to find the green grass and then turn it up to get extra yards. He is also a difference maker on special teams as he has a great combo of speed and power to make people miss in space and make plays.
Wineglass has that same combo of speed and power that once he gets into open space, it’s six points. He is also a difference maker on special teams.
