These five certainly passed my eye test on Thursday and some have grown significantly in their skills since I evaluated them live in last season’s Spring scrimmage.
Ryan Wirtzfield, QB, Recruit Ready/Oak Park (2025) Twitter
Ryan caught my radar at this same scrimmage last year and continued to show off his stock-rising skillsets from what I watched on Thursday night. His ball placement has significantly accelerated on all three levels of the field as he precision was spot on on every route I watched him throw on Thursday night. Ryan also shows off swiftly smooth poise when throwing from the pocket as you do not see an ounce of flustered demeanor from him in-person or on tape. One of the top QBs Canada has to offer in the 2025 class, and would be a 2026 prospect if he gets an opportunity to play college football in the US. A gritty quarterback prospect that also has excellent character as well.
Sebastyen Fries, WR, Potenza Sports/Lakeville North (2025) Twitter
As I tweeted about on Friday, the duo with Sebastyen Fries and Riley Grossman Riley Grossman 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Lakeville North | 2025 State MN is going to be a problem for the foreseeable future at Lakeville North and that duo showed off that enhanced chemistry on Thursday night. Sebastyen showed off a high vertical on one of his splash plays for Potenza Sports and used all of that 6’3 205 pound size to with added physicality I saw from the duration of his routes I watched from him. No tape yet, but this is a 2025 prospect to certainly stay tuned on in the coming 6 months or more.
Kameron Fox Kameron Fox 5'11" | 190 lbs | QB Cooper | 2024 State MN , QB, Minnesota Go Get It/Robbinsdale Cooper (2024) Twitter
The speed of Kameron’s progressions I got to watch showed off some excellent decision-making no matter the length of the route he was throwing within all three levels. He also showed off a high level of football IQ, and just knew exactly where he wanted to go with the football on every rep I got to watch on Thursday and also exceled with the proper arm strength on every route. Kameron on tape, shows off a extremely quick release, even when he uses his bursty mobility outside of the pocket. If there is a Minnesota quarterback prospect I am going outside the measurables threshold for, Robbinsdale Cooper’s Kameron Fox Kameron Fox 5'11" | 190 lbs | QB Cooper | 2024 State MN is one I am going for if I was a Division II football recruiter.
Blake Penner, QB, Recruit Ready/Dakota Collegiate (2024) Twitter
Blake was another quarterback from last year that has grown significantly from 2022 to 2023 with his skillsets. He’s certainly improved with his speed of his quicker release this last season, He has also grown with his mechanics since I watched him last year as the release he showed off some noticeable touch especially on his intermediate routes I got to watch. This young man has a long 6’3 size and looked into a bigger frame in the weight room than what I saw last year. Blake was another Recruit Ready quarterback that owned the quarterback room at the University of Minnesota with his elite precision. Another QB prospect that has some flexibility at the next-level as he is a 2024 prospect in Canada, and 2025 in the US. Blake certainly has a scholarship-level college football future whether that is in the Canada or the US as that size fits well with a lot of schools at the quarterback position.
David Amaliri, DB, Recruit Ready/Kildonan East (2024) Twitter
There are very few 6’4 cornerbacks I have ever scouted in the Midwest and now Canada, but David is one of one when it comes that category and matched it up with the skillsets he showed off on the field at the University of Minnesota. The length with David is incredible with his legit 7’4 wingspan and that allows him to stay competitive with his ball-tracking ability even if he is slightly out of position. He doesn’t just have the length in his upper body either, as David has a chiseled lower body that shows off some great burst in transition when getting to the ball. His tape shows off a corner that looks like a man amongst boys especially in a 1v1 setting and has good instincts in his DNA to envision the play ahead of time. A sure-fire Division I prospect in my eyes with some interest from Missouri Valley schools in the Dakotas.
