Wayment has a big arm for a Junior and shows good ball placement in tight windows while throwing his receivers open downfield. He has a nice pocket presence, shows he can step up and away from pressure while able to throw on the run across his body without giving up zip on the ball. During his Junior season, he showed he can deliver a nice ball underneath, move defenders with his eyes and can float up 50/50 balls where only his receivers can snatch it with nice touch and good spin over the top. Wayment checks in just inside our top ten at the position.
Nelson erupted during his Junior season for over 2,500 yards and 28 scores through the air on his way to leading Teton to a 8-3 overall record. He is a very mobile quarterback with good feet, can throw on the run and rolls out when feeling pressure while able to deliver the ball downfield on off-platform throws. On the run, Nelson is a very high IQ scrambler and knows when to tuck it and run with open field speed and some short area twitch in the open field to make open field tacklers miss. He scans the field quickly moving through his progressions and takes what is given while also able to air it out over the top with good velocity. He is a next level kid that should see D-III+ interest at the next level.
Thompson has been biding his time behind some special players for Rocky Mountain, but passes the eye test with good size and a solid arm. Although taking minimal reps at the varsity level, He is a high IQ kid with solid arm talent and can push the ball downfield while standing tall in the pocket and extremely accurate on intermediate passes while not afraid to take what is given. Thompson can also pull it and run and shows good long strides around the edge with some toughness upon contact. He has a real chance to breakout in 2023 for one of the top teams in the state and move up our QB rankings.
Larson lit it up during his Junior campaign and threw for 2,700 yards and 25+ touchdowns for Kimberly. He does a nice job at spreading the ball around, can hit his mark on deep throws letting his receivers run underneath the ball and throws a tight spiral when he sets his feet. As he continues to work on his release and grows/packs on more weight, he should be statistically one of the best passers once again the state has to offer in 2023.
