Continue ReadingFairland High School has developed into an annual playoff contender. They have another stable of talent to help the Dragons back to the playoffs in 2023. They are a member of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC).
I was able to watch nine of their games in 2022 and these evaluations are based off of those games.
CHALK:
Ryan Dixon, 6’1.5″ 220, Sr. ILB – Best ILB in OVC. Ryan has a tremendous LB skill set and he plays physical in all phases on defense. He reads keys and understands pass coverage very well. Ryan is an exceptional tackler in the box and can make plays in space. He is a repeat state weight lifting champion. His strengths equates to the field and he is agile for his size.
A true Mike who could move to three technique at the next level.
Garrett Spence, 6’2.5″ 182, Sr. OLB – Garrett has the ability to be the best OLB in the OVC. He is a talented pass rusher off of the edge. He reads his keys and has tremendous zone drops with the ability to play man. He has long arms and he is athletic. He is a fantastic special teams coverage player who is a solid tackler and makes plays in space.
He has a great OLB skill set and can contribute immediately on special teams in college
Brycen Hunt, 6’1.5″ 178, Sr. DB/ATH – Brycen is an explosive playmaker on both sides of the ball and may be the Best playmaker/athlete in the OVC. He has exceptional speed with a suddenness that allows him to make defenders miss in space and tight situations. He possesses tremendous hands and competes for the football on O/D. He is a good tackler who is a very talented punt/kickoff returner and a rugby punter.
He will be a difference maker on either side of the ball at the next level.
Kameron Kitts, 5’11 185, Jr. DB/ATH – Kam has the ability to be the best athlete for the 2025 class in the OVC. He is a talented playmaker on both sides of the ball. Kameron is an explosive athlete who has great speed and can make defenders miss. He catches the ball well and has solid special teams skills.
He can be a tough matchup inside at slot in college who can run the football.
NEW BLOOD: Double Production Plus
Keegan Smith, 6’2″ 170, Jr. C/WR – Keegan is a long and rangy athlete who runs well. He will compete for the ball in man or zone defense and he made solid contributions on O/D. He has the drive to compete and make big plays.
I look for him to at least double his production on both sides of the ball.
Wild Cards: Continue Production Plus
Jack Hayden Jack Hayden 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH Fairland | 2025 OH , 6’1″ 173, Jr. CB/ATH – Jack is an outstanding athlete. Very talented and has made explosive plays on O/D. He competes for the football and runs well. He possesses good hands and is always attacking the ball.
He should make several exciting plays this season.
Will Callicoat, 6’1″ 190, Jr. ILB/ATH – Will is an athletic LB with good size. He tackles well, plays physical and can run down outside plays. He relates to WR’s well in pass coverage and has the ability to play man on a TE/RB.
I am looking forward to him showing that he is ready for prime time this season.
Comeback POY:
Peyton Jackson, 6’1″ 182, Sr. QB – Peyton is a talented and experienced QB who has great leadership skills. He is a winner and a tough competitor. He has an exceptional football IQ and his dad is his offensive coordinator. He possesses a strong/accurate arm and he seems to have recovered well from off-season shoulder surgery. He runs the ball well and will run downhill.
He has the ability to be the best QB in the OVC.
