Degraw should be drawing tons of college interest as he is a no brainer FBS caliber kid with untapped upside and potential. At 6’6, he has an elite first step and does a nice job at using his length with heavy hands to keep blockers away from his body. Violent at the POA, he sets his hands quickly and establishes inside placement while a violent shedder. Off the edge, he has a variety of power rush moves and moves well for his size showing good COD, lateral movement and some closing speed when collapsing the pocket. He is slotted in as our top defensive lineman in the 2024 class across Idaho but still remains a bit under the radar.
Highlights
Reese is one of the top backs in the western region in the 2025 class and is in line for a huge off-season. He should perform well at events and showcases this Spring and is coming off a very nice second season campaign for Rocky Mountain. A very balanced runner, he excels in-between the tackles while flashing cutback abilities and can break it outside when needed with second level speed and impressive contact balance through the hole. A well put together kid that is a natural runner with forward lean, leg drive through contact and runs behind his pads, he should have a breakout season as a Junior in 2023.
Holman is a thumper in the middle of the Middleton defense and does a good job in run support, triggering downhill and bringing a very nice thump at the POA. He shows quick play diagnosis, flows over the top with solid lateral movement abilities and takes good angles to ball carriers in the open field. In coverage, he can cover backs out of the backfield and tight ends while running through pulling lineman and showing some natural bend and twitch near the LOS when applying pressure and pass rushing.
Smith is a elite pass rusher with a quick first step, active hands at the POA and can win with both speed and power from his defensive end spot. Having a strong understanding of pass rush lanes, when to counter back inside the pocket and play the run, Smith put up some impressive tape for a second year player in 2022 and is a next level kid. A very high motor kid with quick block recognition and closing speed while able to close/pursue backside, he will be one of the best defenders regardless of class in 2023 across Idaho and a big part of the Skyline defense.
Robinson is still a raw and developing prospect but has shown flashes of college potential and has the ideal frame and length for the position with the ability to continue to pack on more weight as he progresses through his high school career and in college. He is strong at the POA with heavy hands and resets the LOS quickly while showing a active use of hands at the POA when getting off blocks and pass rushing. At the next level, he should find his home as a 4 down defensive end with his hand in the dirt and will be one of the best available prospects across the state as we continue through next season and close in on the first signing day of 2023.
