There are 5 great receivers in the Spotlight this upcoming season, but many more could be written about. After watching numerous athlete’s tape, here are the top receivers that really set themselves apart for the upcoming season.
Kenyon Massey Kenyon Massey 5’10” | 165 lbs | WR Paramus Catholic | 2024 State NJ is a straight up burner. His highlight tape, which I highly encourage all to watch, shows his next level foot work and acceleration. Out of all the tape I’ve watched thus far, his may show the quickest feet in NJ. Massey holds the school record for receptions in a season (64) and in a single game (18). Add on the 982 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, Kenyon is the kind of receiver you hope is taking a visit to your favorite college program.
If a corner is caught peaking into the backfield, you can be sure Ta’Ron Haile Ta’Ron Haile 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR Millville | 2024 State NJ will make him pay. Ta’Ron has elite quickness. He can make a defender miss on a screen, or run right past them on the deep ball. Millville was a dominate force on the field last year, losing only one game all season and winning the state championship for their region. 2023 should be another exciting one with the return of one of their top play makers.
Tareq Council Tareq Council 6’3″ | 170 lbs | WR Toms River North | 2024 State NJ is a man amongst boys on the field. Standing at 6’3″, he overshadows the majority of his competition. Not only does his range out due most, but his hands are made to reel in the 50/50 ball. Tareq Council Tareq Council 6’3″ | 170 lbs | WR Toms River North | 2024 State NJ may be the most college ready wide receiver in the 2024 New Jersey class.
Alexander Bosch Alexander Bosch 5’9″ | 150 lbs | WR Woodbridge | 2024 State NJ was a jack of all trades for Woodbridge in 2022. With 16 total touchdowns and 1,464 all purpose yards, it was hard for defenders to keep track of where AJ was on the field. His first few steps off the line of scrimmage are extremely quick, and he is very precise in his route running. A very difficult combination to defend. AJ will play a major role as a slot receiver at the next level.
I am really impressed with Michael Zarfati Michael Zarfati 6’1″ | 165 lbs | WR Middle Twp | 2024 State NJ ‘s 2022 highlights. He seemed to always be found wide open, and when it came to making defenders miss in the open field, Michael was a master of the craft. He’s got the height to play at the next level, so I’m excited to see him expand on his skillsets in the 2023 season.
