Without further ado, here are 5 of the best NJ running backs that deserve the spotlight entering the 2023 season.
Yasin Willis Yasin Willis 6’1″ | 200 lbs | RB St. Joseph’s | 2024 State NJ is the type of back you wouldn’t want to find yourself face to face with in the trenches. The big bodied bruiser stands at 6’1 and over 200lb, capable of using every pound to impose his will on defenders. Yasin has ran for over 2000 yards and 26 touchdowns in his career thus far at St. Joseph’s; don’t be surprised if he comes close to those numbers in his senior year.

He not only has the elusiveness needed for the next level, but he runs aggressively as well, never letting the first tackler take him down. Elijah played 6 games his junior year, so get excited for a full season in 2023.
Anyone that rushes for 18 touchdowns and over 1000 yards deserves to be on this list. That is exactly what Jake Croce Jake Croce 5’10” | 200 lbs | RB Point Pleasant Boro | 2024 State NJ did his junior year for Point Pleasant Boro this past fall. Playing in an option centric offense, Jake was able to overpower and out run his opponents before they ever realized he was holding the rock. Suffering their only loss of the season in the semifinals, Jake Croce Jake Croce 5’10” | 200 lbs | RB Point Pleasant Boro | 2024 State NJ and his team will look to go all the way in 2023.
Trashon Dye Trashon Dye 6’0″ | 195 lbs | RB Passaic | 2024 State NJ was a force this past season on both sides of the ball. As a runner, he ran for 1276 yards and 11 touchdowns to go with it. What separates Trashon from others is his ability to find the hole and move through it quickly. He is a man with little hesitation when the ball is in his hands.
