There could have been a lot more players I could’ve added to this list too, but I only did 4 or 5 players. I will start with the quarterback position.
There is no doubt about EJ’s talent. He slings the ball beautifully, being able to place it right in his receivers arms while they are on the run. The future Washington Husky has great size standing 6’2″. He’s tough to pull down inside the pocket but can scramble well with his feet. I’m excited to watch him sling the ball to fellow 2024 graduate, Reggie Witherspoon Reggie Witherspoon 5’9″ | 160 lbs | WR Garfield | 2024 State WA .
Holden put the team on his back every single week last year. He showed tremendous leader and confidence, helping lead Washougal to their first home playoff win in the schools history. He’s a Division 1 talent, holding an offer from University of Idaho. He is very accurate through the air and knows exactly when to hit his targets. He can also move very well with his feet, having many games with over 100 rushing yards and multiple rushing touchdowns.
Highlights
Damian was the quarterback for this Yelm team that win the 3A state title last season. Last season with Aalona at the helm, he led them to a 13-0 record. He passed for over 2,200 yards along with 26 touchdowns to only ONE interception. He also completed 71% of his passes. I’m beyond excited to see how much his game has grown over the offseason.

This Meridian quarterback did very well as the starter during his sophomore campaign. He is able to use his feet well, scrambling for yardage if needed. He can let it air out too, accurately hitting his receivers down the sideline. He avoids defenders in the backfield really well, being able to throw on the run well too.
Rex and the whole Anacortes team took the whole state by storm last year when they made a nice run in the playoffs. Rex is very calm under pressure. He sits in the pocket with no problem and can make passes a lot of quarterbacks in the NWC can’t make. Larson works very hard and is always striving to get better. He threw for over 2,600 yards while completing 65% of his passes. This Anacortes team didn’t lose much, so expect them to be right in the 2A mix again.
