Review:
After just barely missing out on the playoffs last year, the Trojans left no doubt this season on their way to a number one seed out of the North. Its two years in a row now that they have beat perennial power Coeur d’Alene which is not small feat in the northern part of the state. Using their fast paced offense to constantly beat teams down and a defense that was as quick as it was strong. Offensively the Trojans were led by a young gun slinger who was equally as dangerous on the ground as he was through the air and should be a real bright spot for the Trojans coming into next season. Where the Trojans really separated themselves was at the running back position where they may have had the two best in the entire state that ended leading the state in rushing yards. On the offensive line they have absolute maulers who made themselves known every game opening huge holes for their starts at running back. At wide receiver they have some ballers who are continue to progress and become a huge weapon for them as their young quarterback grows. This offense really paced itself in the run game where it was one of the best in the entire state. They were really able to wear out defense and shorten the game which really can help you especially when you are young at the quarterback position. On defense the Trojans were littered with starts especially in the front line. Where they are going to have to replace a league MVP at defensive line. His teammates were exceptional as well consistently holding the line of scrimmage and cause complete chaos for opposing quarterbacks. At linebacker they had studs who could really be seen leading their teammates and making sure they were lined up correctly. They made plays in the run game consistently and were really able to make a difference in the passing game. Out in the secondary you have a bunch of great cover guys who constantly blanket receivers and made it hard to throw the football. After a first game exit last year don’t be surprised to hear about the Trojans once again as they look to make their mark on the Northern part of the state and watch it translate into long playoff runs. This is a program that is really dangerous every year and they are only getting better every single season.
