During my last visit, these recruits posted their highlight link in my Twitter thread. Upon review, I break down a “bit” of what I saw from newly named recruits who were not known to me prior to watching the film and are worthy of knowing. This preview includes recruits in all classes
Kalil Barno Kalil Barno 5’11” | 180 lbs | QB Hartford Public | 2025 State New E He gets the ball out quickly with good accuracy when needed. He shows ability to escape pressure and make plays with his arms and feet. The ball placement of his throws caught my attention. He can change arm angles to make difficult throws on the run. Would like to see more clips of his arm strength, and clips of his speed when carrying ball. Surely a solid recruit behind center.
Highlights
Caiden Carriuolo Caiden Carriuolo 5’8″ | 175 lbs | WR Middleboro H.S. MA | 2025 State New E His quickness easily pops on film. He has fast twitch movements with flexibility and speed combined in his athleticism. Plays fast and it shows. Has breakaway speed in open field. Solid reliable hands and catches everything away from the body. Excellent body control and balance. Field vision especially in return game is very good. The routs he runs are crisp and he gets out of his breaks by planting and with a burst that is easily noticeable. Will fight the size concern but his athleticism can over come many of those concerns . He will easily make our updated Prep Redzone Rankings being released this month. Solid recruit with high ceiling especially if he continues to grow in height.
Highlights
Joseph Carrara Joseph Carrara 5’10” | 160 lbs | WR Phillips Academy | 2024 State New E Hands are solid!!! Has good body control and balance that shows he has the flexibility to make difficult catches. Flat out speed is excellent. He identifies running lanes in the open field and quickly maneuvers in and out to make defenders miss. A home run threat each time he is targeted. His YAC is awesome and he runs down hill with power.
Highlights
Brendan Peno Brendan Peno 5’8″ | 180 lbs | ATH Nauset H.S. Ma. | 2026 State New E He can get the ball out quickly. He has good pocket awareness with ability to escape the pocket and make plays with his feet or arm. He shows accuracy in his throws. He can change arm angles to make difficult throws. Does a good job with RPO. Has time to grow and develop.
Charlie Smith Charlie Smith 6’1″ | 275 lbs | OL Deerfield Academy | 2025 New E He is quick off the ball. Has very good lower body strength that drives 1st level defenders backwards. Uses very good leverage when taking on blocks in open field. He knows how to chip off a 1st level blocker and continue to 2nd and 3rd level, while still being an effective blocker. Plays with a bit of tastiness and aggression seen in his skill set. He will fight being undesized at 6’1″ during his recruitment, but can’t ignore his technique and overall blocking abilities.
