What is interesting about this conference is that Freedom was one of only two teams that finished with an above 500 record. Three teams in Freedom, Forest Park and Garfield all made the playoffs last season, there is more than enough talent across the board for more to make it this year.
Part 1 is a focus on the 2022 state champions, I will have more rising juniors from throughout the conference soon.
Why don’t we start the 2022 State player of the year in Mr. Evans how bout that? Mr. Evans not only lead Freedom to a state championship, he tossed for a ridiculous 61 touchdown passes to go along with 11 rushing scores. You read that right, the Virginia state player of the year for 2022 had 75 total touchdowns and oh yeah only tossed 6 interceptions, pretty impressive stuff. Watch his tape the kid can make every in the pocket or on the run. The only reason he is not getting more division 1 interest may be because of his height which certainly is unfair. It would be a shame if any major school would miss out on him because of height, but he will make all of them pay after 2023. Get to know this man now before it is too late, he has several FCS and smaller FBS schools calling already. http://www.hudl.com/v/2K8Mer
Highlights
Jewel Harris
Jewel Harris
While only 5’7 Harris is athletic enough to play on the defensive line or at linebacker for the Eagles. His brute strength and speed off the ball make him a problem for offensive coordinators. Every snap Harris is the player you want to point out and make sure he is accounted for. One slip or error and he will make you pay, look for him to be used more on offense this year too. http://www.hudl.com/v/2K3jEg
Kameron Courtney
Kameron Courtney
One of many targets returning for Evans and company for 2023, Courtney is a 6’0 with breakaway speed. He has the ability and hand placement to win any jump ball and the speed to take even a simple receiver screen to the house. The interest in Courtney is already forming with offers from Ohio University , Boston College and Virginia Tech and many more to come. A big time playmaker for the Eagles comes back for 2023 with power 5 offers galore.

Reid excels at both receiver and cornerback for the Freedom Eagles, I think he will make his money on defense at the next level but that remains to be seen. Reid is another dude for Freedom that may not have ideal size (5’9) he again proves it doesn’t matter. Watching him at corner the way he breaks to the football is a pure treat and he looks ready to play Division 1 football now. Thus far he has received an offer from Howard University which would be right in his backyard, give it time though more interest is coming.
