When you shorten the field, you definitely open things up for big-time players to make big-time plays. That is exactly what these standouts from eight-player provided out of the secondary this past fall.

Eight players had at least six interceptions, led by nine from WACO's [player_tooltip player_id='320703' first='Mason' last='Miller']. Quite the number with another several picking off five.

Here are the all-state players from eight-player in the secondary:

First Team - [player_tooltip player_id='320703' first='Mason' last='Miller'] - WACO - Senior

[player_tooltip player_id='320701' first='Simeon' last='Reichenbach'] got a lot of the headlines for WACO, but the reason they made a run to the semifinals was because of the collective efforts of many, including [player_tooltip player_id='320703' first='Mason' last='Miller']. To go with his 30-plus tackles, Miller picked off a ridiculous nine passes, adding in a fumble recovery for his efforts.

Go ahead and throw in his 318 yards receiving and three scores to what was a memorable senior season for Miller and WACO.

Second Team - [player_tooltip player_id='152901' first='Alex' last='Schroeder'] - Remsen St. Mary's - Senior

The champs had players at every position, and honestly, could have competed in 11-man football with a few more players on the roster. However, they were the best of the best in eight-player with the likes of [player_tooltip player_id='152901' first='Alex' last='Schroeder']. Schroeder finished his career with 54.5 tackles and five interceptions, taking two of those all the way back for interceptions.

The senior also had 535 yards rushing with nine touchdowns and caught 37 passes for 490 yards with seven more scores.

Third Team - Max Hough - GTRA - Senior

The Titans became a force in northwest Iowa over the past couple of years because of the all-around play from Max Hough. The senior could not be stopped, racking up over 1,400 yards passing, 2,100 yards rushing and 46 total touchdowns. And on defense, he made it very, very difficult for others to get going.

Hough had 82.5 tackles with 46 solo stops and 8.5 for loss, collecting four interceptions and a fumble recovery. He took one of those picks back for a score, as well.

Honorable Mention

Go ahead and add in Calvin Bodensteiner of Turkey Valley, Mason King from West Harrison, [player_tooltip player_id='152925' first='Samson' last='Adams'] of Lenox, Ethan Olberding of Glidden-Ralston and countless others who could have been featured.
