DRSportz Davenport 7v7: Notable Day One QB Standouts

The showcase provides a perfect opportunity for scouts to get eyes on a lot of kids and watch them compete against high-skill level prospects from different areas. It's what separates most from those who can handle the moment. For today, various teams met to compete in Davenport where recruits had the chance to showcase their skillsets during the offseason. Prep Redzone scout Andrew Johnson was in attendance to take in all the action. The 6'3, 210-pound junior excels in the deep pass game but has the ability to change velocity on his throws to find soft spots in the zone. The Florida State commit is the complete package with the right tangibles and mentality to grow in the position. Can complete every throw on the route tree with good arm strength and accuracy. He had to bring his game while staying composed as the leader and did well in both aspects. Hawkins has the measurables, passing the eye test surely. Good throwing mechanics and threw his receivers open on various routes. Has good decision-making skills with decent arm strength. Whirley and his squad will be favorites to make it to the championship on Sunday.
