Nate Barron – RB – 5’9″ 183 – West Blocton HS
Barron is quicker than fast, and it isn’t close. He can evade people in open space, and while he may not outrun a majority of defenders, he certainly is fast enough to break into open space. He is more sudden than fast, and he is a very entertaining runner when he has the ball in his hands.
Robert Porter – RB – 5’10″160 – St. John Paul II HS / @APorter_6
Porter has quite a touch of burst, which is visible on tape. When he has a clearing in between blockers, he can shoot through the gap instantly and take off. With the ball in his hands, he can quickly move upfield when he has space. If you aren’t paying attention at all times when you’re around him, Porter will make defenders miss in the open field.
D.J. Vinson – WR – 6’3″ 180 – Montgomery Academy / @DjVinson4
Vinson shines in contested catch situations. He can high-point the ball above defensive backs and retain possession to the ground or continue racing down the field. He displays confidence in these circumstances and comes down with the ball more often than not. Vinson does an excellent job in this regard.
Tyseon Smith – WR – 6’1″ 165 – West Blocton HS
Smith can pinpoint the ball in the air, even if he’s late to turn his head back to where the ball is. He can high-point the ball in contested catch situations and puts himself in a great position to get extra yards after the catch with how he positions his body on the catches he makes. Smith has the ability to be an technician in every aspect of his game, and it shows up in the way he tracks the ball.
Keltric Washington – DE – 6’2″ 220 – Montgomery Catholic HS
Washington tackles very well and rarely fails to finish by wrapping a ball carrier up. While rushing downfield, he is very dangerous and uses his lateral agility to cut inside to make a play on the ball. He doesn’t allow too many yards after contact. Most of the time, Washington uses his explosiveness very well off the snap which allows him to get upfield and get a step on his man. When he plays with high energy, he is a force to be reckoned with. Looking forward to see Washington have a great junior year.
