Who are they? Let’s take a look…
Dwight Phillips Dwight Phillips 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB Pebblebrook | 2024 State GA Jr. – Pebblebrook
Previously ranked as the No. 23 prospect in the state. Phillips jumps ahead in the latest update, coming in at No. 10 in the state now and the No. 2 RB prospect. A current Georgia Bulldog commitment, Phillips Jr. is one of the fastest prospects across the country in the 2024 class. He dominated as a junior last season, making plays at both running back, wide receiver, and on special teams throughout the season. The “ultimate competitor” according to one of his high school coaches, the speedy track and field star brings plenty of versatility and has the ability to erase angles and fly past defenders. He’s lined up at wide receiver every year as well, making him a mismatch and an easy vertical weapon in the passing game. The Georgia Bulldogs recruit the best of the best at running back, and the Pebblebrook star is without a doubt one of the most explosive players and overall running backs in the country.
One of the breakout backs in all of North Georgia and across the state for the 2024 class, the North Cobb back shared the load last year for thee Warriors on the ground, but when he had the football, he was always a threat to make a big run and take off for a score. He has a good feel for finding the hole and slashing his way down the field. He’s big and heavy enough to bowl through tackles with enough footwork to stay balanced and pick up extra yards. He’s a natural runner who can make defenders miss, and it’s led to offers from Clemson, Auburn, Arkansas, among others. After a big junior season showing off his breakaway speed and big play ability, the rising senior from Kennesaw is now ranked as the No. 73 player in the state and the No. 8 running back prospect in the 2024 class. If he carries the load for North Cobb next fall, look for him to be one of the leading backs in Cobb County and possibly across the state as a senior. His stock is rising, and so is his ranking.
Cam Robinson Cam Robinson 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB Mill Creek | 2024 State GA – Mill Creek
A new addition to the rankings, the state-champion running back comes in at No. 102 in the latest update after an outstanding junior season for the 7A champion, Mill Creek Hawks. He may not be the biggest or fastest running back in his class, but Robinson was consistently effective and could break off a long touchdown run on any particular play. His vision, ability to change directions, and quick feet are easy to notice on film. He was a reliable back all season long, and his junior numbers make it easy to see why he jumped up to the No. 102 spot. With a big senior season, look for the Hoschton native to end his career inside the top 100. He went against some quality defenses all season long last year and still found a way to make a big impact on the ground just about every weekend. He ended his fantastic junior season with an eye-opening 1,802 yards and 21 touchdowns.
A breakout running back in South Georgia last season, Dennis is a bigger back with plenty of size at 6-foot-1 195-pounds who has some shiftiness to his game as well. The junior from Ware County had a massive season last fall, helping lead the Gators to thee 5A state championship, and now he’s ranked as the No. 104 player in Georgia for the 2024 class and the new No. 12 running back prospect in the state. He’s a back who runs with patience, balance, and has enough agility and acceleration that makes him one of the best not only in 5A, but across South Georgia in his class. He’s a threat to score any time he as the ball, and he scored over and over again in 2022. The Ware County star led the Gators on the ground during their state-title run, carrying the ball 176 times for 1,247 yards and a jaw-dropping 19 touchdowns. He was excellent in the playoffs, scoring 7 touchdowns on the ground in the final three games of the season while adding two scores in Ware County’s 38-13 win over Warner Robins in the championship game. He runs hard, can shed tackles, and bound for a gigantic senior season in 2023.
