Prospects across the state geared up for another opportunity to compete this off-season, with yet another weekend of 7-On-7 action. Several players from Kansas and surrounding states traveled south to participate in the Prep Redzone Sooner Shootout in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The showcase featured a number of talented prospects, and produced some exciting battles. Here’s a peak at six underclassmen that impressed during the two-day tournament.
Class of ‘25:
Derek Morgan Derek Morgan 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Eisenhower | 2025 State KS – Eisenhower, 6’2”, 185, QB
Up first from the Class of ‘25 is Derek Morgan Derek Morgan 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Eisenhower | 2025 State KS of Eisenhower. Morgan is currently unranked, but that won’t last much longer if he keeps dropping dimes like this. All of these throws display good accuracy. However, the ball placement in the first two clips is outstanding.
Nate Phillips Nate Phillips 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Shawnee Mission East | 2025 State KS – St. Thomas Aquinas, 5’11”, 180, ATH
Nate Phillips Nate Phillips 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Shawnee Mission East | 2025 State KS of St. Thomas Aquinas proved to be a playmaker last year during the 7-On-7 circuit. This past weekend was much of the same. The highlight film he put together is filled with nice grabs. But the first clip is an impressive display of focus and awareness.
Brody Reschke – Olathe South, 5’11”, 155, DB
The perk of showcases like this is an opportunity to be seen by several scouts. Brody Reschke of Olathe South didn’t waste this opportunity, and he’s now on our radar. The sophomore made it a point to get his hands on the football during this tournament, as he comes up with an interception and multiple pass breakups in these clips.
Austin Adair – Basehor-Linwood, 6’0”, 165, WR
Similar to Reschke, Austin Adair of Basehor is another junior-to-be that turned heads over the weekend. Despite the degree of difficulty on this reception, Adair manages to not only catch the ball over his shoulder, but he also got both feet down in-bounds. The Bobcats have a potential breakout player on their hands.
Class of ‘26:
Kelvin Parker III Kelvin Parker III 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Olathe North | 2026 State KS – Olathe North, 6’0”, 155, DB
Kelvin Parker III Kelvin Parker III 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Olathe North | 2026 State KS showed why he’s already regarded as one of the top defensive backs in the Class of ‘26. In terms of ball skills and breaking on passes, Parker III is ahead of the curve. These four clips are a prime example of that.
Frank Hall – Blue Valley North, 6’1”, 180, LB
Frank Hall of Blue Valley North is yet another prospect that made a case to be added to the rankings. These two clips are a small sample size, but they do showcase Hall’s lateral quickness and length. He’s a prospect to keep an eye on this summer.
