Jones is going to be a really fun guy to keep an eye on. Right now, he’s got a decent amount of experience on defense playing DB, but his calling may just be on the other side of the ball. Don’t get me wrong, defensively you’ve got a guy who can cover a ton of ground and make plays in the open field, however, it’s his twitchy movements and potential running routes that is special. Jones is able to get in and out of breaks quicker than just about anyone. Sharp cuts, no momentum lost, and a ton of separation created. He’s someone who can develop into a route technician and cause havoc for the DB lined up across from him. He looked fantastic at a camp a few weeks ago playing WR where his route running continues to get polished. He’s not the biggest guy on the field, but he’s still young and growing. Jones is a huge wildcard heading into the season and if he breaks out, you will have seen it coming because the progress is there.

Landin Hoeppner Landin Hoeppner 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Leo | 2025 State IN – Leo – DB – 6’0″ 170lbs
Hoeppner is as steady of a player you can find at this age. He’s always in the right place at the right time and makes play after play. He sticks to his assignment and understands the simple things like timing on the short game and to stop dropping in depth when the QB does. He breaks on the ball and will get his hand on it. His hand/eye coordination is absolutely fantastic and my assumption is that’s his elite baseball background coming through. I wasn’t able to find raw data so I tried to keep track as I watched his film. He had over a dozen defensed passes this year where he made the play. His hand on the ball breaking up the pass. Hoeppner is able to make those plays because he keeps his WR in phase all the time. He’s in their back hip pocket and doesn’t let them go. He’s not handsy, either. He let’s them run and he just stays with them and makes the play as it comes. Hoeppner is quietly a good DB prospect with more potential than he may even realize.

Carmine Orozco Carmine Orozco 6'4" | 275 lbs | DL Mishawaka | 2025 State IN – Mishawaka -T/DE – 6’3″ 255lbs
Orozco is a disruptive player at the LOS who really started to come on later last year. He’s got a ton of natural strength and makes some things look easy. He bends well and is able to use his ability to bend to get off blocks and throw/fend them off of him. While not consistent, it’s a good thing to show he’s got that potential. Being able to blow a guy off the LOS and completely eliminate him from the play right away is quite the advantage for the defense. There are times Mishawaka is able to run a 3-4 now with Orozco because he’s like an eraser. He’ll erase 2 gaps, play the run, and infiltrate the pocket when you drop back. High energy, high effort, grinder mentality is the vibe his tape gives. He’s incredibly long and it just extends the plays he’s able to make. Overall, Orozco is someone I can see flying up boards over the next few years, and for good reason.

Kinkade Zientara Kinkade Zientara 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Heritage Christian | 2025 State IN – Heritage Christian – QB – 6’2″ 170lbs
Zientara is going to be the most compelling guy to watch this upcoming fall. He’s developed nicely on JV and looks really really good at times. He’s poised, stands strong in the pocket, and delivers an accurate ball most of the time. It feels like the further downfield he’s going, the more comfortable he is. I think progressing the quick game and a better grip on the ball in those short moments will help. I can’t imagine he’s going into this fall looking to develop another year on JV. I truthfully don’t know what the rest of the QB room looks like, but I’d anticipate Zientara having the reigns in 2023. I think he’s ready. He’s someone I think just needed reps and he’s gotten them while learning and growing. It may have been the best thing for him. I’m really anxious to see what he can do this fall because with his frame and poise, he could blowup big time and do special things for that program.

Tayt Jackson Tayt Jackson 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Cloverdale | 2025 State IN – Cloverdale – ATH – 5’10” 165lbs
Jackson is really fun to watch because he must be having a ball out there. He’s like the backyard QB who gets to run around and make wild plays while everyone just has to watch because they can’t tag him. Tayt probably has a good feel of what Lamar Jackson gets to do every week on the NFL level. He’s able to weave back and forth, make people miss multiple times, and then take off and pick up a first down if no one comes open. In terms of mechanical QB play, that’s where Jackson is a bit raw and would need some across the board. Jackson feels like the QB who gets to college and turns into a stud WR, but that’s where I could be wrong. He’s a quick and shifty athlete who can easily create separation downfield. Jackson has 2 more years to continue to develop and see where he’s at. When it’s all said and done, if he wants to play college ball he will absolutely find a place. He’s too good of an athlete and can potentially do too many things to not get a shot somewhere.
