Continue ReadingThis state has some very good 2025 wide receivers. They have some versatile guys who can open up a defense for their team. It’s nice to see these youngsters being able to run routes so well. This state also has some guys in this class who are going to be superstars at the next level. Let’s take a look.
Caleb Cunningham Caleb Cunningham 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Choctaw County | 2025 State MS , Choctaw County
This guy is well known all across the nation. Cunningham is going to be on another level next season. He is working with Mesh Academy this off-season. It is going to be scary to witness Cunningham as a developed receiver. He already has natural instincts at the receiver position. Cunningham has a nice release at the line. He also stays balance and isn’t easily distracted by press coverage. He needs to work with his hip movements in and oit of his breaks. Cunningham has some good size. He is a 6-foot-2, 186-pound receiver who can go up and get it. He is going to be a beast on the next level.
AJ Lewis, Columbia
Lewis is a guy who grinded very hard to get his name out to college coaches. He will be working with Mesh Academy this summer also. Lewis is raw and excels with raw talent. However, he has a great stride when he is running with the football. On his film you can see that he needs to get a nice lean in his stride. He tends to run straight up. That may be something that can take him from a 4.58 to a 4.53. Lewis is going to be a beast once he develops his route running. He has a few things that he needs to polish up in his route running. I would love to see him be more fluent with his hips, similar to what I said about Cunningham earlier. That will help him be more elusive in and out of his cuts.
Dillon Alfred, Gautier
Alfred is a guy who is becoming a very fluent route runner. He works very hard on his game. Alfred has a lot of different releases stashed in his vault. He is deadly on shorter routes. He can make the quick moves to get open fast. Alfred has the speed to go the distance once he catches the ball. He is very smooth when he runs his routes. He has a smooth glide when he come out of his release. Alfred had over 1300 yards receiving last season. That’s how you get it done.
Jermarj Bell Jermarj Bell 5'7" | 150 lbs | WR Northside | 2025 State MS , Northside
Bell is one of the most underrated players in this class. He is a very good route runner who gives cornerbacks trouble. If he was a bigger prospect he would have a lot of offers rolling in. I think Bell needs to continue to work on his speed. He also needs to put up a lot of stats during the season. A great 7v7 circuit can help get his name out more also. I think he is a guy who can make it on the division one level. However, he has got to stay with this same work ethic that he has now. Bell is also a good return specialist.
