Continue ReadingThis class of linebackers in the state of Alabama caught my attention. I made it my duty to check them out. A lot of these guys are big backs with speed. I can’t wait to see the ones I haven’t witnessed firsthand, in person. Let’s take a quick view at who this class has to offer at linebacker.
Talton Thomas – SS – Homewood HS / @TaltonThomas1
Thomas can be used as a rangy run defender inside, instinctive when it comes to locating the ball with the quickness to get to it before blockers can react at the second level. Thomas has an excellent feel for working off blockers and knowing how and when to counter as the play goes on. Shows toughness to get under the pads of tackles to bull them, club them upfield to get the inside lane to make a play.
Edwin King – OLB – Faith Academy / @EdwinKingJr3
King is a good athlete. He shows a natural feel for pass rushing and has very good lateral agility to shake pass blockers. He keeps his feet moving after initial contact. King has quickness in his hands and uses his length effectively.
Yusuf Clark Yusuf Clark 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB Williamson | 2025 State AL – MLB – Williamson HS / @YusufClark5
Clark has violent hands and consistently breaks away and disengages from blockers. He’s great at being instinctive, reading, reacting and locating the ball quickly, and finishing plays, wrap-up tackler. Can’t wait to see him put on a show this upcoming season.
Cayden Adkins Cayden Adkins 6'2" | 230 lbs | LB Elba | 2025 State AL – MLB – Elba HS / @CaydenAdkins2
He is a sideline-to-sideline linebacker with a strong sense of spatial awareness. Adkins has the tools to be called upon as a sub-package pass rusher. Has a quick first step with the fluid hips required to get under blocks while also having the strength to go at lineman. Adkins can can quickly go between gaps with ease.
Ford Beeker – LB – Tuscaloosa Academy / @FordBeeker12
Beeker has sudden and quick feet that make it hard for blockers to attach to in space. He possesses quick hands and plays in his base for leverage. When dropping into coverage, Beeker uses his quick lateral mobility to cover a lot of ground quickly. This kid has a bright future.
