I love the defensive backs within this class. There are some studs who love to come up to make big hits. You have guys in this class who love to catch interceptions. This class is very versatile. Let's check them out.

Jarcoby Hopkins, Lake Cormorant

Hopkins is the forerunner for this class. He has over twenty offers. Hopkins has been starting since his freshman season. This young man is an absolute stud. I love the way he plays the game. Hopkins can help out in coverage as well as the running game. Some schools are recruiting Hopkins as a linebacker. He has great size and a nice body. You can look at him and see he is going to gain weight.

[player_tooltip player_id='648934' first='Cortez' last='Thomas'], Holmes County

Thomas has good hips, but he also is very long. He has long arms that help him excel like a lineman when he is in press coverage. He shoots his hands very well. Thomas knows how to get a receiver unbalanced. He also knows when to play press. He isn't a guy that let's his pride get the best of him when is playing corner. Thomas can also play receiver. That helps him when he is on defense.

Samuel Watkins, Jackson Academy

This kid is one of the most polished secondary players out for the 2025 class. Watkins is going to be one of the best in the nation for this class. He knows how to play his position very well. He is a guy that has a very high football IQ. Watkins is also a guy that knows how to come up to make good solid tackles. He has no fear, but isn't always concerned with making big hits. Watkins also does a great job on offense. He is a big contributor for the Raiders.

Jaiden Dilworth, Nettleton

Dilworth is the truth on those islands. He knows how to handle himself. This young man has a lot of upside. The kid has great hips and great instincts. I truly think that he is a power five prospect. I haven't seen him in 11v11, but I've seen him play some of the best receivers out there. He is going to only grow as a player when he sees more competition. Dilworth is definitely a guy to keep up with.

[player_tooltip player_id='653019' first='Davarrius' last='Hairston'], Starkville

Hairston is going to be a superstar. He will have a breakout season next year. He has some good DB coaches with his school and 7v7 squad. Hairston will be playing with Mesh Academy this summer. He has some good hips. He also does a great job in press coverage. Hairston has the IQ to play zone coverage very well. He doesn't have offers coming in yet. That is going to change this season. He is definitely an under the radar guy to follow.
