Leet’s take a look at which rising seniors saw new offers come their way recently.
Martreece Dillard jr. – Buford
A big-time versatile defensive lineman who saw his recruitment take off this year, Dillard is physically gifted at 6-foot-5 260-pounds with an impressive 83-inch wingspan. He’s a “first guy off the bus” type and is still growing as a player by the day. He was impressive last season as a junior, but his best football is still way ahead of him. A hard worker with an impressive motor, Dillard uses his size and strength to get off blocks and attack the ball-carrier in the backfield. He’s disruptive off the edge, but if he continues to keep adding more weight and muscle, he could likely slide inside at the next level, where he has plenty of options. The promising defender already has an impressive offer list, and he earned a new one recently from Minnesota. He also holds offers from Michigan, Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State, among others. Look for him to have a gigantic season for a loaded Buford team ready to compete for another state championship.
Hunter Teal Hunter Teal 6'2" | 220 lbs | TE Walton | 2024 State GA – TE – Walton
Arguably the top tight end in Cobb County heading into next fall, Teal is a 6-foot-2 220-pounder who brings toughness and the ability to make plays in the passing game to Walton’s offense. A gritty player with a true love for the game, Teal is a versatile weapon offensively as he can line up in multiple ways to either get open in the passing game, or deliver a big block in the run game. As a pass catcher, Teal shows reliable hands when the ball comes his way. He can break tackles after the catch, but in the run game, shows the ability to block on the edge and open up running lanes for the Walton backs. and shows toughness and strength when blocking on the edge. He was one of the most productive tight ends across the peach state last year, catching 50 passes for 970 yards and four touchdowns. He’s an easy D1 talent and earned new offers recently from UAB and Kent State.
Gold Chyrack Jr – LB – Greater Atlanta Christian
An active linebacker with length and versatility, Chyrack Jr improved more and more as the season went along last year, earning All-Region honors last year as a junior. The Norcross native has good size and length at 6-foot-1 200-pounds and showed D1-caliber talent last fall. He’s a smart linebacker who closes well on the ball-carrier and can read the quarterback in coverage. A sure tackler who knows how to wrap up, he was a consistent defender with big play ability. He’ll get better the better the more he plays, and he’s already earned the ability to play at the next level, landing his veery first offer a few days ago from UCONN. This might be the first domino to fall, as his stock might be on the rise. He’s a promising defender with a high ceiling, so don’t be surprised if more offers came his way sooner than later. Last season, Chyrack Jr. made 42 tackles, three TFLs, 2.5 sacks, and forced one fumble.
Nasir Johnson – DL – Dublin
A powerful interior lineman who dominated on both sides of the ball last year, Johnson is a big 6-foot-5 290-pounder who showed easy D1 potential last year. Now, the offers are coming in. The small-town lineman is a game-wrecker on thee defensive line, clogging running lanes between the tackles and making his way into the backfield on a consistent basis. He’s quick of the line for his size and has an impressive swim move that allows him to get off blocks. He plays with leverage and brings plenty of athleticism for someone his size. He was too big and strong for opposing linemen to handle last year. On offense, he’s a bully at the center position. He’s easy to run behind and nows how to block defenders out of the play. He flashed consistently on both sides of the ball, and it’s helped him reel in recent offers form Minnesota, Kentucky, among others.
