There are a lot of young talented prospects and several sleeper prospects that could start getting looks for the next level. Prep Redzone Florida will always promote everybody in hopes of them getting the opportunity of playing college football at the next level.
Ryan Matulevich- Venice High c/o 25
6’0 185lbs
Matulevich is one of the top overall class of 25 receivers in the state. Matulevich was outstanding as a sophomore for powerhouse Venice High, he led the team with 50 catches for 673 yards and five touchdowns. His outstanding play has earned him offers from Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCF , and USF. Matulevich is a high caliber route runner that does a good job setting up his routes, is a natural pass catcher that can track the ball in the air, and shows outstanding quickness and burst off the line. He’s the top returning receiver in the district.
Charles Lester- Sarasota Riverview High c/o 24
6’2 180lbs
Lester is one of the most highly coveted players in the State of Florida this season. He’s a 5 star prospect that has over 27 offers including power five offers from Ohio State, Alabama, Florida State, and Georgia to name a few. He’s a two-way player that excels on either side of the ball. Last season he finished with 34 receptions for 354 yards and four touchdowns at the receiver position and on defense he finished with 18 tackles and one interception.
Chris Rudolph- Sarasota High c/o 24
Rudolph is a solid receiver that I think under the new coaching staff will be featured more heavily in 2023. I look for him to have potentially a breakout season after registering 13 catches for 175 yards and a touchdown last season. Last season he worked mostly out of the slot and shows good acceleration out of the stance, has soft hands and isn’t afraid to work over the middle.
Jackson Mullet- Sarasota High c/o 24
5’10 160lbs
Mullet is an up-and-coming receiver out of the Sarasota area. Last season he finished with 12 receptions for 171 yards, averaging 14 yards per catch with 2 touchdowns. Under a new coaching staff I expect Mullet and Rudolph to have a big impact for the Sailors offense in 2023. Mullet is a slot receiver that shows good acceleration to eat up cushion quickly on defensive backs and can get over the top of the scondary, possesses big play ability, and shows toughness making catches in traffic.
Nathan Wells, TE- Sarasota High c/o 24
6’3 205lbs
Wells is an intriguing player for Sarasota. His Maxpreps stats show he finished with 4 catches for 97 yards and a touchdown in only 2 games. Wells is a hybrid player that lines up at tight end or could move out into the slot, runs well for his size, shows the ability to adjust to the ball in the air, can also run with physicality after the catch.
