The prospect landscape is starting to become clearer and below is a look at some class of 2027 prospects (athletes in their eighth-grade school year) that have come across my desk. As football recruiting and evaluating continues to change, the eighth-grade year is becoming a pivotal time for young athletes to garner early attention from universities. Here’s a look at some prospects that are on the trajectory to be playing a high level of football for years to come.
DJ is a big time wideout coming out of the state of Texas. Just by looking at him, DJ already looks like the type of prospect that any big time football program would like to have on their roster. DJ goes beyond the eye test and proves to have some attributes in his game that some athletes farther into their careers wish that they had. One of the key aspects of DJ’s game that separates him from the rest is his route running. DJ has the capability to go in and out of breaks smoother than almost everyone else that I have seen so far. Coupled with his route running, DJ the explosive ability to make plays on the ball where others can’t and has no problem going up and getting level three passes and bringing them in for some big receptions. Just from what I have seen from DJ, it is clear that he is a wide receiver that everyone should be getting excited about in the future.
Steven is a big time offensive linemen coming out of the state of Georgia who has recently enrolled at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Steven has a large 6-foot-3 frame and is built to be a premier offensive linemen down the road. Steven has also made some noise on the national level and is starting to get some sniffs on the recruiting trail. On the field, Steven is a physical blocker who has no problem finishing blocks in the run game. He is a natural pass protector with picture-perfect feet and a strong punch, everything that a tackle needs to help protect the blindside of the quarterback. Steven is clearly someone that everyone should keep an eye on, the projections on his career are going to be off the charts very soon.
Rony is a big 6’2 wide receiver coming out of the state of Florida and is already generating a lot of buzz at the national level. Rony is a long, shifty route runner who is capable of making clean cuts in his routes. His athleticism makes him incredibly difficult to defense as his is capable of producing big plays through just about any route he can run. Another aspect of Rony’s game that makes him elite is his capability to catch the ball in traffic, his strength and ball skills allow him to the bring the ball in no matter the circumstances. With all of this being said, Rony is clearly one of the better receivers in this class and it shouldn’t be long until the college camp invites start rolling out here.
Daniel is a big, tall 6-foot-3 quarterback coming out of the state of California, who is already generating some interests from some big name programs around the country. Already holding a reported verbal offer from Colorado State and taking a visit to Southern California, Daniel has already proven he has the stuff that the next level is looking for. Daniel has arm talent that most don’t develop until later in their career. With a seamless throwing motion and perfect foot mechanics in the pocket, Daniel is more than capable of hitting his targets quickly and precisely. Daniel also has the impressive ability to throw on the run. Whether he is running to or away from his throwing hand, Daniel has no problem delivering accurate passes while he is moving outside of the pocket. Just from what I have seen, Daniel is one of the best quarterbacks coming out of this class and it shouldn’t be long until he is stacking more offers on top of Colorado State.

Aaron is another explosive running back coming out of the state of Georgia. Coming in at 5-foot-10 and 155-pounds, Aaron is built to be one of the premier backs in the country. Aaron, who played with the Grayson feeder program this year, plays with a swagger about himself on the football field that helps energize his team. With that, Aaron is a big play threat, and has no problem generating chunk plays coming out of the backfield. Aaron is a smooth runner who makes running through defenses look easy. His strength allows him to burst through defenders with the ball in his hands, and the speed to break away from the pack. Overall, Aaron is already showing why he is going to be the next great running back, and it won’t be long until he pops up on everyone’s radar.

Keyon is another freaky fast slot receiver type athlete coming out of the state of Georgia. Coming in at 5’8, Keyon a shifty playmaker who can cause headaches for defenders when the ball is in his hands. He has already generating some buzz around his name with some big time performances from various showcases that he has attended so far. On the gridiron, Keyon is the type of athlete that can do anything on the football field. From running the ball on sweeps, to running downfield routes, Keyon is a human swiss-army knife on the offensive side of the ball. Keyon has proven time and time again that he can get it done on the field and has the potential to be one of the better overall athletes coming out of the state of Georgia.
