Over the last few weeks, several 2024 prospects in Georgia have gone from under the radar to being right in the recruiting spotlight. Here are a few of many 2024s in Georgia making some noise on the recruiting trail.
Ben Grice Ben Grice 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Woodward Academy | 2024 State GA – WR – Woodward Academy
Following his breakout junior season, Grice has soared onto the scene and is emerging as one of the best WR prospects in Georgia. Grice was targeted early and often for Woodward Academy, reeling in 54 passes for 976 yards and 15 TDs. He is also a very dangerous return man, bringing back 4 return TDs on the year. Grice has picked up over a dozen offers since December from major programs like Missouri, Boston College, and others. Everything Grice does is effortless. He can change direction with ease and has effortless acceleration. His explosiveness off the snap allows him to get downfield in a hurry and leave defenders in the dust. This is just the beginning of what will be a busy offseason for Grice.
Justin Logan – LB – Kell
In a matter of a month, Logan has emerged as one of the most highly touted 2024 defensive players in the state of Georgia. Nearing 20 offers, schools like Arkansas, Vandy, Missouri, Duke, and numerous other P5 programs. Logan plays all over the field, but he likely projects at LB or some sort of hybrid position. He has excellent speed and instincts with great gap discipline. He is a rangy prospect that is a great tackler in space. With his instincts and ability to fly around the field, there is rarely a play where he doesn’t make some sort of impact. At 6’3 210, Logan has a big time frame for an LB prospect, and he has plenty of room to fill out and become an even more physical player. His stock is still rising, but he has solidified himself as a legit P5 football prospect this off-season.
Jakob Gude – S – Langston Hughes
Fast-rising DB that will play his senior season at Langston Hughes. Lined up all over the defensive side of the ball while helping lead Sandy Creek to a state championship season. At 6’1 185, Gude has high-level measurables and shows the ability to play all over the secondary. He is good in man-to-man coverage, but he is also a heat-seeking missile and can fly all around the field. With his aggressiveness and tackling ability, he is able to play close to the line of scrimmage and hold his own. At safety, he has good field discipline and is seen playing receivers perfectly. All in all, Gude is a complete package at DB and is starting to pick up some steam on the recruiting trail. Alabama and Oregon are some of his most recent offers, making him one of the hottest prospects across the land.
Nykahi Davenport – RB – Roswell
It was only a matter of time before Davenport emerged as one of the best RB prospects in the state. On the year, Davenport was one of the most explosive players in the state, averaging around 10 YPC while racking up over 2000 total yards of offense. Davenport has a tall and wiry 6’0 190 frame with a lot of room to add mass. Davenport’s vision is incredible out of the backfield, often making something out of nothing as he scampers away to the endzone. Davenport has effortless acceleration. It might not look like he is running very fast, but defenders can’t seem to close the gap once they separate. Davenport is big, fast, and has excellent vision. He is only going to continue getting better. This recent wave of offers for Davenport is just the beginning.
Chase Tyler – ATH – Hiram
There aren’t many athletes in Georgia built like Tyler is. In fact, there might not be any at all. At 6’4 with super long limbs, Tyler is an incredibly large prospect with a ridiculous wingspan. With his length, he checks all the athletic boxes as well. He can change directions quickly, has a high vertical, and controls his body exceptionally well. Tyler plays on both sides of the ball, but likely projects at WR. With his size and ability to get open, Tyler is a weapon that you need on the offensive side of the ball. He is still growing as a player, but he has a high ceiling and is starting to emerge as one of the best two-way players in Georgia.
