Recruiting News and Notes 1-30-23

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2023 recruiting period is winding down and attention has shifted to the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes. However, plenty of work is still to be done in the 2023 recruiting class. At this point in the week, we take the time to get caught up on all the news making recruiting headlines across the Natural State. We have a number of prospects signing national letters of intent this upcoming week as well. So, sit back and let's get caught up.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='339467' first='Noah' last='Tindall']-Offensive Line-Morrillton-2023</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Earlier in the 2022 football season, [player_tooltip player_id='339467' first='Noah' last='Tindall'] placed his commitment with Arkansas Tech. This upcoming week Tindall is going to sign his national letter of intent to play for the Wonder Boys in Russellville. Tindall has quick feet and explodes out of the stance and into the opposing defensive lineman. He's an offensive lineman that has the potential to see the field in the future. Keep an eye on Tindall over the next couple of years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='176361' first='Peyton' last='Mills']-Quarterback-Cutter Morning Star-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='176361' first='Peyton' last='Mills'] throws a football into some tight windows and does so accurately. Mills has displayed good mobility in the pocket and can extend plays when needed. The Cutter Morning Star signal caller does an impressive job of keeping his eyes down the field to make the throws. Mills had the opportunity to take a visit to the University of Arkansas over the weekend. The Razorbacks were putting on prospect activities and Mills is one of the talented prospects that had the chance to visit Fayetteville over the weekend.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='181497' first='Preston' last='Davis']-Linebacker-Little Rock Christian-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2024 linebacker class is a strong one in the state of Arkansas. Over the past two seasons, [player_tooltip player_id='181497' first='Preston' last='Davis'] has lit up Friday nights with his consistent play. He has a nose for the football and is always around the ball carrier. Davis has the hands needed to pick off passes and take them the other direction. Over the weekend, the Little Rock Christian linebacker had the opportunity to visit the Memphis Tigers. Davis was able to take part in the junior day activities being held by the Tigers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='149572' first='Greyson' last='Riggins']-Athlete-DeWitt-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Riggins is one of the most versatile prospects in the class of 2024. He works effectively on both sides of the ball for the Dragons. On the offensive side of the ball, Riggins has worked at the tight end, wide receiver, and quarterback positions. He has the athleticism to create problems for the opposing defensive players attempting to cover him in the passing game. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball he has the speed coming off of the edge to cause plenty of problems for opposing offensive linemen. Riggins had the opportunity to attend prospect day at the University of Arkansas over the weekend. I expect a big 2023 season from Riggins.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='376929' first='Torren' last='Jackson']-Defensive Back-Watson Chapel-2023</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Arkansas-Monticello did an impressive job of recruiting the talented Watson Chapel defensive back over the past few months. Jackson is a defensive back that does a great job of using his speed. He is not afraid to get aggressive with opposing wide receivers. Jackson has the versatility to see action on special teams as well. Jackson announced his commitment to Arkansas-Monticello over the past couple of days and congratulations are in order for the talented defensive back.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='216278' first='Da'Shawn' last='Chairs']-Running Back-Elkins-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='216278' first='Da'Shawn' last='Chairs'] is one of the most productive running backs in the state of Arkansas over the past few years. Chairs is an explosive running back that has no trouble finding rushing lanes. Whether he rushes between the tackles or cuts it to the outside. Chairs is an impressive wide receiver out of the backfield and is a prospect to watch out for this upcoming season. Chairs earned a scholarship offer from the University of Central Arkansas a few days ago and this should be the first of numerous offers coming his way.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='569285' first='Dizzy' last='Dean']-Quarterback-Elkins-2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dean throws the football with accuracy to all levels of the field. He has a strong arm and can fit the ball into some tight windows. He is dangerous when he gets out of the pocket. Dean is always looking to make the throw first, however, he does not mind using his legs to pick up yards on the ground. Dean earned a scholarship offer from Central Arkansas a few days ago. I expect Dean to open more eyes and earn more scholarship offers over the next few months.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
