Recruiting News and Notes 1-23-21

The late January weekend brought with it a busy weekend of recruiting activity across the country. Visits, scholarship offers, and commitments made up an extremely busy week of recruiting activity across the Natural State this week. Recruiting news is always coming in on a steady basis, however, let's take a look at everything making news over the past week or so.   [player_tooltip player_id='278904' first='Zamarion' last='Wilson']-Defensive Back-Hot Springs-2023   The Arkansas Tech coaching staff has done an excellent job of recruiting the in-state talent this year. [player_tooltip player_id='278904' first='Zamarion' last='Wilson'] will give Tech a prospect that can make plays on the ball as well as get physical with opposing wide receivers. Wilson has the speed needed to make opposing wide receivers lives difficult. Over the weekend, Wilson committed to the Wonder Boys of Arkansas Tech. He is a prospect I expect to see the field on Saturdays in the future.   [player_tooltip player_id='207838' first='Gary' last='Rideout Jr'].-Athlete-Benton-2024   Versatility is the name of the game for [player_tooltip player_id='207838' first='Gary' last='Rideout Jr']. He has the talent to play all over the field for the Panthers. Looking at the defensive side of the ball, Rideout Jr. is a defensive back that does a terrific job of making plays on the football.  I look for this young man to continue to open eyes from a recruiting perspective over the next couple of months. Central Arkansas likes what they have seen from Rideout Jr. and extended a scholarship offer to the talented defensive back. Keep an eye on Rideout Jr. this season he has the potential to light up Saturdays in the future.   [player_tooltip player_id='75137' first='Jabrae' last='Shaw']-Athlete-Little Rock Mills-2023   Over the past three years, [player_tooltip player_id='75137' first='Jabrae' last='Shaw'] has been a playmaker on both sides of the ball. Shaw is a prospect that has terrorized opponents in the secondary. He does a fantastic job of playing the ball in the air and picking off the pass. He is dangerous with the ball in his hands and will not go down on initial contact. Shaw placed his commitment to the University of Arkansas over the weekend. He is a player that I expect to see the field over the next couple of seasons for the Razorbacks.   [player_tooltip player_id='176357' first='Keytrone' last='Green']-Defensive Back-North Little Rock-2025   [player_tooltip player_id='176357' first='Keytrone' last='Green'] is a defensive back that has opened plenty of eyes over the past couple of years. He is a defensive back with the speed and aggressiveness to cause plenty of problems for opposing wide receivers. Green has no trouble filling the gaps and bringing down the ball carrier. He is a defensive back that is not afraid to make a hit. The North Little Rock defensive back earned a scholarship offer from the Arkansas Razorbacks over the weekend on a visit to Fayetteville.   [player_tooltip player_id='149570' first='Courtney' last='Crutchfield']-Wide Receiver-Pine Bluff-2024   [player_tooltip player_id='149570' first='Courtney' last='Crutchfield'] is a wide receiver prospect that has blown up from a recruiting perspective over the past couple of weeks. The talented wide receiver has received scholarship offers from Kansas State, Memphis, and over the weekend the Arkansas Razorbacks. He has the speed to stretch the field deep. Crutchfield has the hands needed to haul anything thrown his way in for a reception. I expect Crutchfield to continue to haul in the offers as the offseason progresses and he is a wide receiver that I expect to have a big 2023 football season.   [player_tooltip player_id='221259' first='Cash' last='Archer']-Defensive Line-Greenwood-2025   The Greenwood Bulldogs have talented players all over the field. One player to watch out for this upcoming season is [player_tooltip player_id='221259' first='Cash' last='Archer']. Archer has the speed needed to get into the opposing offensive backfield. He has tremendous versatility and can play any of the positions along the defensive line. Archer can drop back and play the linebacker position as well. Archer has already received a scholarship offer from Louisville and he is a prospect I expect to see blow up from a recruiting perspective over the next few months. Over the weekend, Archer had the opportunity to pay a visit to the University of Arkansas.   [player_tooltip player_id='149536' first='Vinny' last='Winters']-Offensive Line-Malvern-2024   [player_tooltip player_id='149536' first='Vinny' last='Winters'] had a tremendous 2022 season for the Malvern Leopards. Winters has done a tremendous job of clearing rushing lanes for his teammates. Meanwhile, he is impressive at keeping his quarterback standing upright as well. He has the mix of power and speed that throws opposing defensive linemen curve balls. Over the past few weeks, Winters has earned scholarship offers from Kansas State and UNLV. He is going to be a prospect to watch out for in 2023.   [player_tooltip player_id='202575' first='Kane' last='Archer']-Quarterback-Greenwood-2026   [player_tooltip player_id='202575' first='Kane' last='Archer'] continues to raise his game and level that he competes at every time I see him. The Greenwood signal caller has a strong arm and does a great job of extending the play. He looks to make the throw before taking off and using his legs to pick up yardage. Archer had the opportunity to visit the University of Arkansas over the weekend as well. Over the next couple of months, I expect Archer's recruiting to continue to heat up. It is going to be interesting to see where this talented prospect lands.
