Over the next few weeks we will be breaking down the top athletes by position for the 2025 class. Have a look at the state's top 10 RBs, with the overall top 100 for 2025 referenced here https://prepredzone.com/oregon/rankings/2025-rankings/. You can expect this list to double in the coming year.

1.[player_tooltip player_id='312496' first='Hudson' last='Hardy'] 6-3 200 West Linn

I would expect Hardy to be one of the state's top overall players next season from his RB spot, while projecting on D as an elite OLB prospect. His size and overall versatility is appealing from a recruitment standpoint.

2.[player_tooltip player_id='285876' first='Kameron' last='Rague'] 6-1 180 Cascade Christian

Rague will most likely project as a safety at the next level, but was dominant from his RB position playing small school ball down South. On the year he totaled 1,519 yards and 22 TDs, while averaging 12.1 yards per carry. He will be the overwhelming favorite for state player of the year honors, per his classification, the next two seasons.

3.[player_tooltip player_id='412220' first='Maliq' last='Smith'] 5-11 175 Glencoe

Another kid who could end up in the secondary collegiately. That said as he had an outstanding year offensively, earning 2nd team all-conference honors, and finishing with 823 yards and 11 TDs. He should be considered one of the most versatile kids in Oregon for his class.

4.[player_tooltip player_id='407439' first='Brody' last='Thomas'] 6-1 205 Sheldon

As most know Brody is the brother of 1st team all-state and conference player of the year [player_tooltip player_id='110187' first='Brock' last='Thomas']. Injuries and a deep Sheldon roster have kept him off the field thus far. Look for him to be a featured athlete and one of the best in Oregon for his class.

5.[player_tooltip player_id='511863' first='Dontrell' last='Betts'] 5-7 185 Roosevelt

Not the biggest kid, but a likely PIL Offensive Player of the Year in the seasons ahead. As a sophomore he earned 1st team all-conference honors. He has the luxury of playing for head coach Ryan McCants, a former standout RB at Oregon St.

6.[player_tooltip player_id='291819' first='Tyler' last='Newbury'] 6-0 180 Central Catholic

Newbury had a good season as a sophomore for a loaded Rams team. In limited time he averaged 7.1 yards per carry on 30 rushes, with 4 TDs. He will be one of the best in the conference defensively as well, making 43 tackles this past season.

7.[player_tooltip player_id='511862' first='Jake' last='White'] 6-0 180 Seaside

Not a lot of people know about him playing for 4A Seaside but the film speaks for itself. He went for 1000+ rushing the ball, while averaging 7+ yards per carry, and close to 20 TDs.

8.[player_tooltip player_id='407172' first='Jackson' last='Farris'] 6-2 225 Valley Catholic

The 2x 1st team all conference athlete is a bruising RB who can also play some D. Head coach Michael Snyder has done a great job with the program in general.

9.[player_tooltip player_id='285890' first='Nick' last='Bocchetti'] 5-8 160 Oregon City

Expect big things from the undersized scat back next year. 2nd team all state RB [player_tooltip player_id='110205' first='Marcus' last='Jordan'] is graduating, and Bocchetti can do a little bit of everything, as proven this past season with some ridiculous stat lines at the JV level.

10. [player_tooltip player_id='511865' first='Wyatt' last='Andler'] 5-10 190 Wilson

Andler had a good year, earning 2nd team all PIL honors as a sophomore. He was a big reason for the teams 5 wins, averaging close to 6 yards per carry and double-digit TDs.
