Continue ReadingIt is a new time, a new year, and new space for opportunities for the prospects of Mississippi. Some names have started to blow up that some of us weren’t familiar with before last season. I’m very excited about the new year. This is a time to see these guys grow. Let’s check out some of the top four guys who have seen their stock rise, and should see it continue to rise.
JJ Harrell JJ Harrell 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR North Panola | 2024 State MS , WR, North Panola, 2024
Harrell came into the 2022 season on a mission. He had a very successful season, and he saw it pay off. Harrell has been receiving a lot of interest. LSU and Tennessee are very big on this young man right now. The question is going to be where will Harrell land. With the 2023 prospects getting ready to sign, the 2024 prospects are becoming the priority. Harrell is also picking up a lot of interest from Mississippi State and Ole Miss also. It’s good to witness his process. Last off-season we saw him telling social media this would be his time. It certainly has been.
Kahnen Daniels Kahnen Daniels 6'1" | 185 lbs | RB West Point | 2024 State MS , ATH, West Point, 2024
Daniels is a guy that showed up very big his sophomore season. Last year he did the same thing. This is a guy that saw his stock rise a lot this past offseason. Daniels hasn’t gotten to the point where a certain school is showing a lot of interest. Those days are definitely coming. At this point it is hard to tell what position he will be playing, however he is a power five prospect. Daniels is a top dog around the state. I’ll be very anxious to continue to watch his progress.
Aaron Travis, DL, Grenada, 2024
Aaron Travis is a guy I did not know before he got an offer to Mississippi State. That offer is what made people start paying attention to the country boy from Grenada County. Travis is going to have a nice off-season. It is his time to get better, and show that he isn’t all strength. He needs to get his technique a little better. That is going to help him raise his stock. He needs to be better with his hands this season as well. He is the man on the line for Grenada. This is his season to show it.
Caleb Cunningham Caleb Cunningham 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Choctaw County | 2025 State MS , WR, Choctaw County, 2025
Cunningham is a star and this season has showed it. This season Cunningham picked up a lot of offers and interest from some big time schools. I love watching his process. Mississippi State and Memphis put their bid in early 2022. This year we will see a lot more offers coming for Cunningham. He is a stud. He is ranked as one of the top players in the nation for the 2025 class. I love watching his process as well. He is going to be a very big time name. This is his time to get better running routes. Him being a good route runner will be scary for their opponents. I can’t wait to see his progress this off-season.
