Continue ReadingTaft quarterback/punter with quality reps as a Freshman. All reps recorded are Varsity reps, proving that this young talent could be a future name at the Taft program. Phenomenal size for his age, will need to beef up a bit under his pads but that will come in time. Utilized in a spread offense that begins sets with a mesh with the running back. Kimrin works the read-option preset well, tucking it and surprising defenders in open space. He surprises me as well, you don’t see 6’4 QBs move this well in space. He isn’t a track star or anything close, but Kimrin proves he must be respected to tuck and run. Not only tuck and run, Kimrin proves he can keep the ball, move out of the pocket and still deliver accurate passes. A ton of tools on display early on, this has to excite the staff at Taft. How about 1st-team All Founders honors as well, at punter. The young man proved his worth as a freshman, not many can claim that.
Highlights
Gio Lynch-Ruberio Gio Lynch-Ruberio 5’10” | 185 lbs | RB Plymouth South | 2026 New E ‘s tape intrigued me. Ruberio’s a 5’11, 190-pound back that runs like an upperclassman. Natural open-field runner, the Plymouth South freshman averaged 12 yards a carry this past season, a number you don’t see often out of inexperienced prospects. The tape shows he can provide splash, home-run hitting plays through the trenches or around the boundaries. Serious acceleration, Ruberio shows he has the stride to beat deep angles from defensive backs. Six scores to his name too. This kid is just scratching the surface of his capabilities. Excited to see how he continues to develop.
Dalton Lozin
Dalton Lozin
I see many seniors who can’t put together a better run-stopping tape than Dalton Lozin’s freshman film. 6’3, 250-pound 2026 prospect that can clog gaps at both DE or IDL positions. Multi-gap schemable, Dalton Lozin is looking like a lock to be one of the better run defenders in his conference. He’ll end up placing high once the freshman rankings are updated this February. Well advanced in the strength department, both upper and lower body that can sustain opposing power well. Lozin has a ways to go to become the elite interior force he’s trending towards becoming, both in the weight room and in technique. I don’t doubt that Westhill will get him in position to succeed.
Tristan Yepdo
Tristan Yepdo
Top-tier frame and build. A freshman DB with long limbs, 6’1, 170 pounds, Tristan Yepdo is already ahead of the curve from a stature perspective the second he steps across wideouts. One of the better DB freshman tapes I’ve plugged in my short time covering New England football. Incredible tracking ability, plays the football at its highest point, ensuring he comes down with interceptions. Yepdo is already big at corner, add great athleticism and leaping ability and you’ve got a game-changing corner, one that helped Brooks School get to the 8-1 record they posted this past Fall. Ton of great plays in the red zone, both in run support and in pass coverage. Run support looks easy for this kid, making it easy for Yepdo to shift his focus to locking up wideouts downfield. In-phase early and late, Yepdo can play the triangle with physicality and annoying hands. Consider me a big fan of this kid’s game. Quality special teams returner as well.
Tristan Rosenberg
Tristan Rosenberg
Limited tape out of Southington center Tristan Rosenberg, a 6’0, 245-pound prospect who can also provide legitimate long-snapping reps. Although Rosenberg’s sophomore tape isn’t 10 minutes long, he still provides a lot to look forward to. A combination of pass-pro and run-blocking reps show that this kid could be a potential dual-capable center moving forward. Solid feet in pass-pro, solid steering ability thanks to good hand placement when run-blocking. Seems like a smart player that finds his assignment promptly.
